Informative with some outdated content
Revisado: 06-30-23
This was a pretty thorough and detailed book. I learned a lot of concepts! Unfortunately, there were a lot of outdated concepts in here. For example, recommending vegetable oil as lube was something that I found strange and outdated.

Historia
Millions of people visit xkcd.com each week to read Randall Munroe's iconic webcomic. His stick-figure drawings about science, technology, language, and love have a large and passionate following. Fans of xkcd ask Munroe a lot of strange questions. What if you tried to hit a baseball pitched at 90 percent of the speed of light? How fast can you hit a speed bump while driving and live? If there were a robot apocalypse, how long would humanity last?

Full of fun

This was a fun listen with snarky commentary, ridiculous questions, and hilarious situations, accompanied by surprisingly thoughtful scientific explanations.

Historia
Our brains do their best to help us out, but every so often they can be real assholes - having meltdowns, getting addicted to things, or shutting down completely at the worst possible moments. Your brain knows it's not good to do these things, but it can't help it sometimes - especially if it's obsessing about trauma it can't overcome. That's where this life-changing book comes in. With humor, patience, science, and lots of good-ole swearing, Dr. Faith explains what's going on in your skull, and talks you through the process of retraining your brain to respond appropriately....

Too harsh.
Revisado: 05-18-23
I couldn’t keep listening after hearing so many curse words one after the other. It turned me off. I’m sure the contents of this book are interesting but I cringed with every f-bomb.

Historia
Nando Parrado was unconscious for three days before he woke to discover that the plane carrying his rugby team to Chile had crashed deep in the Andes, killing many of his teammates, his mother, and his sister. Stranded with the few remaining survivors on a lifeless glacier and thinking constantly of his father’s grief, Parrado resolved that he could not simply wait to die. So Parrado, an ordinary young man with no particular disposition for leadership or heroism, led an expedition up the treacherous slopes of a snowcapped mountain and across forty-five miles of frozen wilderness.

A stunning story
Revisado: 05-18-23
This is an absolutely incredible story, with more emotion and feeling than the account written by Read. It was amazing to hear Parrado’s voice when telling parts of his story and the interview after the epilogue.
