Great narrator

Narrator was the best I have heard handling both English/American accents. Her take on all the characters really made them unique. The story was pretty clever, and each character seemed to keep their persona intact, even while undergoing transformation. They still remained who they were but with different “clothes.” Of the several KF books I’ve listened to, this was the best!

Not a predictable plot!

I mean, you know in the end how it will turn out but the path there wasn’t the predictable storyline. Cute, loved the 2 mains, short listen, a “kind” story.

Delightfully complex story

Kudos to Lily Chu - and Dot! - for dreaming up this one. I love deceased Dot! I would have preferred Philippa as the only voice but really appreciate expanding diverse voices. Please never stop your fabulous stories Lily, and Philippa’s equally fab reads. What’s up next?!

Nice (not cantankerous-for long!) characters…nice about a different holiday (Hanukkah)…nice performance…nice plot about relationship recovery…nice support characters…nice about making a big move. Thanks for this!

Another cute Colgan story

A nice follow up to book one. I thought Austin was a nice guy in the first book, so his “New York” storyline and seeming personality shift (unpleasantly) surprised me. The story was cute though and reading how the cupcake café came together was interesting, Issy was committed to her entrepreneurial endeavor and didn’t just give it up and go immediately to New York to be with Austin. I appreciated how she wrestled with that after she became a businesswoman.

The supporting characters each had their own interesting and well developed storylines.

For me, there weren’t long enough gaps between changes in scenes/storyline. The narrator seemed to move quickly from one storyline, and then immediately switched into another w/o much pause, so sometimes I was left wondering, “Huh?”

I was used to the recipes at the start of chapters as I had read Jenny‘s other books that have recipes at the start of each chapter. Easy to scroll ahead.

As usual Jenny crafts our real feelings and puts them to story - those human quirks that prod us to believe we are the only ones who feel them. Thanks for letting us recognize and own them Jenny. :)
