Historia
All My Knotted-Up Life is a beautifully crafted portrait of resilience and survival, a poignant reminder of God’s enduring faithfulness, and proof positive that if we ever truly took the time to hear people’s full stories . . . we’d all walk around slack-jawed.

Humbling and beautiful
Revisado: 06-17-24
I had gone back and forth on reading this; wanting to but being afraid of platitudes and everything working out perfectly for Christians. I could not have felt more refreshed and more love of Christ by listening to this story. I am thankful Beth was willing to be vulnerable. I am filled with the Spirit knowing she was able to tell stories identifying sin without feeling she needed to berate anyone or gossip, only share the facts for how they impacted her story. And I am thankful for people out there that are still willing to learn and love. Praise God.

Delightful
Revisado: 01-24-24
I truly enjoyed this and plan to get a copy for my mom. It was a little heavy on the emphasis on family, but it was such a pleasant and easy read. I would recommend for anyone who enjoys baking, orchards, or family!

Historia
Esme Silver has always taken care of her charming ne'er-do-well father, Ike Silver, a small-time crook with dreams of making it big with Bugsy Siegel. Devoted to her daddy, Esme is often his "date" at the racetrack, where she amiably fetches the hot dogs while keeping an eye to the ground for any cast-off tickets that may be winners. In awe of her mother, Dina Wells, Esme is more than happy to be the foil who gets the beautiful Dina into meetings and screen tests with some of Hollywood's greats. When Ike gets an opportunity to move to Vegas life takes an unexpected turn for Esme.

Disappointed
Revisado: 08-12-23
Beautiful descriptions, but nothing ever really happens. It’s a story of a couple miserable people doing the same things over and over again.

Historia
Elvira Carr believes in rules. She also strongly believes in crisp schedules, clear guidelines, and taking people at face value. Not that the 27-year-old sees many people. After several unfortunate incidents, her overbearing mother keeps her at home. But when her mother has a stroke, Elvira is suddenly on her own. To help her navigate a world that is often puzzling, she draws up seven ironclad rules. Armed with these, a notebook full of questions, and guidance from a helpful neighbor, she takes charge of herself.

Historia
The tipping point is that magic moment when an idea, trend, or social behavior crosses a threshold, tips, and spreads like wildfire. Just as a single sick person can start an epidemic of the flu, so too can a small but precisely targeted push cause a fashion trend, the popularity of a new product, or a drop in the crime rate. This widely acclaimed bestseller, in which Malcolm Gladwell explores and brilliantly illuminates the tipping point phenomenon, is already changing the way people throughout the world think about selling products and disseminating ideas.

Historia
Burnout. Many women in America have experienced it. What’s expected of women and what it’s really like to be a woman in today’s world are two very different things - and women exhaust themselves trying to close the gap between them. Sisters Emily Nagoski, PhD, and Amelia Nagoski, DMA, are here to help end the cycle of feeling overwhelmed and exhausted. Instead of asking us to ignore the very real obstacles and societal pressures that stand between women and well-being, they explain with compassion and optimism what we’re up against - and teach us how to fight back.

I felt as though they were in my head.
Revisado: 03-27-22
I have never had the experience of feeling safe and understood, celebrated and validated by a book. What a breath of fresh air to be acknowledged and gently shown another way. It was so applicable, science based and real. It spoke to my here and now. The gentle humor, vulnerability, and willingness to go there with their comments impacted me deeply. This book resonated in a way that means more than so many of the other books out there. Thank you for writing it.
