Historia
The Courage to Be Disliked, already an enormous best seller in Asia with more than 3.5 million copies sold, demonstrates how to unlock the power within yourself to be the person you truly want to be. Using the theories of Alfred Adler, one of the three giants of 20th-century psychology, The Courage to Be Disliked follows an illuminating conversation between a philosopher and a young man. The philosopher explains to his pupil how each of us is able to determine our own life, free from the shackles of past experiences, doubts, and the expectations of others.

Historia
The guru to the gurus at last shares his knowledge with the rest of us. Nobel laureate Daniel Kahneman's seminal studies in behavioral psychology, behavioral economics, and happiness studies have influenced numerous other authors, including Steven Pinker and Malcolm Gladwell. In Thinking, Fast and Slow, Kahneman at last offers his own, first book for the general public. It is a lucid and enlightening summary of his life's work. It will change the way you think about thinking. Two systems drive the way we think and make choices, Kahneman explains....

Dull Presentation by Audio
Revisado: 05-27-24
Too many examples that are not easy to follow on audio. Don’t buy the audio. The textbook version may be OK? Some books don’t have a plot, and this is one of them.

Get to the darn point
Revisado: 08-12-23
Egotistical rendition of pablum that could be summarized in maybe 2 hours. The author like to hear himself think out loud and even thinks his ‘doltifying’ jokes are funny. Get a co-author who can summarize thoughts appropriately and try again. Lots of good research horribly presented.

A lot of effort went into this book. From the 4 horsemen that cover a lot of good advice on health, in later life … to the surprising acceptance of mortality and acceptance of the most important thing of all… love.

Historia
Ageism Unmasked shifts the lens, enabling us to see that we tolerate, and sometimes actively promote, attitudes and behaviors toward differently aged people that we would reject and condemn if applied to any other group. It peels back the layers to expose how cultural norms and unconscious prejudices have seeped into our lives, silently shaping our treatment of others based on their age and our own misconceptions about aging - and about ourselves.

Required Reading for EVERYONE.
Revisado: 08-26-22
As an Experienced Professional who watched too many 50 year plus people go into depression by having their work opportunities close down at the exact time when their abilities were at their peak, this book is the story that HAS to be told. Especially today in the western post-morality world when debate was halted in the politics arena by an ever so PC public discourse. This book searches for the root causes of ageism in a comprehensive, thorough presentation of historical, economic and even physiological dimensions. The book does start to run out of ideas when it starts talking about COVID impacts. Not a lack of truth about how older folks suffered, usually alone. But, by following pseudo-poly science vs un-politicized preventive medical care. If you are interested in more about the money driven vaccine mania of COVID, I recommend THE REAL ANTHONY FAUCI, by Kennedy. In the end, Dr Gendron did an excellent job ‘giving voice to’ the millions of Black, Hispanic, Women, Men, Veterans and all other under-represented groups who will ALL be Impacted by ageism, at some point. When is the ‘Solution to ageism… real world experiences for an equitable long life’ coming out? God Bless that effort, too. Nice job… a must read!
