Understanding the source of conspiracy theories

This is one of the most en;ightening books I have listened to recenty. It is so interesting to hear how conspiracy theories start, who started them and why, and how conspiracies have migrated to be mostly against Jewish people, to being against many others as well. I have had to listen and relisten to parts of the book again and again to understand these views and to understand how many people are taking in by conspiracy theories from unlearned citizens to presidents of countries. Of-course, one cannot trust everything one hears, but one must allow oneself to hear alternative views and to decide how this fits into one's understanding of the world.

Value based fees

In a world searching for cheap supply it is so invigorating to meet Alan Weiss and to be coached and trained directly by him.

I’ve listened to 3 of his books so far, watched videos and paid for a course.

I’m 58 years old. I’ve run my entrepreneurial business for 30 years. And I’m still learning and preparing myself for the next 20 years of my life, as I move from hourly billing to value based fees.

So many people have stabbed me in the back. Sometimes I feel that someone gets thousands of dollars of value in a 20 minute discussion with me. I ask them a question they’ve never thought of. I make a suggestion that changes their track.

I am implementing what Alan is teaching, especially regarding Conceptual Design and calculating metrics for success long before the proposal is written.

And I’ve already stopped putting the answers in the proposals.

Thanks again Alan for making this work public and not only training the consultants but especially for training the clients to understand why value based fees are the only ethical approach to consulting.

God is so impossible in our lives

If only we knew how to listen to God and His influence on our lives. This book is so beautiful and its narrator has such a beautiful accent.

It’s a story of developing self esteem and forgiveness, understanding why one needs to forgive the past (one must remember the past but not be consumed by it) so that one can receive God’s blessings and move forward.

This is another of the old and original self help (and help from God) books that I will listen to again and again.

Inspiring words

There are so many assumptions we make in life, about ourselves, about money, about where we can go. There are so many great words and helpful phrases that helped me. For example “the sentences and phrases you need to explain your idea might not have been invented yet” (quote not verbatim). This is very helpful for inventors like myself who has been working on a new way of thinking for over 23 years. I need to keep at it. I’ll be listening to this book again.

Our legal system is flawed

This book gives one yet another example of grand collusion and conspiracy where a super rich group control the narrative and use the legal system to prevent due process.

The one question that still remains unanswered or perhaps unasked is how did hundreds of tons of opium legally get imported into the USA for decades and still does to satisfy the needs of the legal pain industry and how does the FDA know what imports are legal and what imports are illegal?

Henry Ford knew more about manufacturing and optimisation than experts know 100 years later. This book should be compulsory for all business schools and it is applicable to manufacturing and office plants.

Getting your fix

It’s amazing how caffeine has invaded our lives without us even realizing it. This is an excellent book that questions one of our modern values and takes us on a caffeinated journey to the roots of coffee and caffeine and the roots of why caffeine has become such an important part of our lives. I loved the book and will listen to it again.

One of the funny things was that I kept falling asleep during the book. But I still really enjoyed it and I love these kinds of “Malcolm Gladwell” type books that question our assumptions and show us how our intuition has developed.

Difficulties for entrepreneurs

Wow. Another amazing, truly amazing book. Added to my bucket list of read or listened to books. I love that Mr Nike has given such a personal account of his life, personal and business, and has shown all entrepreneurs that there will be difficulties and that having an incredible team is helpful in overcoming anything. And amazingly that Phil gave his teams so much autonomy.

As an entrepreneur in the middle of his own crisis, i thank Phil for his wisdom and his keep going attitude.
