Historia
All Samantha wanted was to move back to New York and pursue her music, which was difficult enough being a Chinese girl in Missouri, 1849. Then her fate takes a turn for the worse after a tragic accident leaves her with nothing and she breaks the law in self-defense. With help from Annamae, a runaway slave she met at the scene of her crime, the two flee town for the unknown frontier. But life on the Oregon Trail is unsafe for two girls.

Loved it. Young adult literature, but enjoyable for any age. Adventurous, and romantic, with sage advice throughout.

great story, not very exciting read.
Revisado: 01-09-25
it was hard to follow the dialogue sometimes from the reader. She also was very mechanical. The story was really interesting and kept me interested.

Being an unwanted twin in the Imperial line of succession, Farilane became a scholar, adventurer, and in a time when reading was once more forbidden—a book hunter. Her singular obsession is finding the mythical Book of Brin, a tome not just lost but intentionally buried. Respected and beloved by the Teshlor Knights, not even their legendary skills can protect her for what she finds is more dangerous than what she sought.

Written Very Well
Revisado: 12-05-24
This book was so well written. I am only experienced with the first two stand-alone series, and no other work from this author. Curiosity caused me to do a little background research on Kile while listening to this book. I am not a lover of sad endings, but I do understand why this one was necessary. Very well written, and the performance was really well done.

Historia
Dragons are common in the backwater kingdom of Bellemontagne, coming in sizes from mouse-like vermin all the way up to castle-smashing monsters. Gaius Aurelius Constantine Heliogabalus Thrax (who would much rather people call him Robert) has recently inherited his deceased dad’s job as a dragon catcher/exterminator, a career he detests with all his heart in part because he likes dragons, feeling a kinship with them, but mainly because his dream has always been the impossible one of transcending his humble origin to someday become a prince’s valet.

New Ideas Incorporated Into A Timeless Story
Revisado: 09-20-24
I loved the premise of this story. I did see some reviews about the characters having too much angst. I didn't see that as a problem, and the thoughts of the main characters were very believable. The events were realistic in how they were explained. The fantasy was made as a real possibility.
The reading was not my favorite, but in my experience with Audible, they don't really have a huge selection of readers that I have enjoyed in the first place.

Great book, could use a better timeline..
Revisado: 09-12-22
I loved that these series were able to be completed. I did find it hard to follow the timeline of the characters together. For example, in the cleansing of the taint, the chapters of the main characters realizing the light was sequential. In this book, Elaine's timeline seemed way behind the others. I didn't like that. Great story, though.

The reading had developed throughout the series
Revisado: 09-12-22
I really couldn't stand the reading of the first few books. Recently, they have been great. I'm sad the series is ending. I'm happy that the story got finished, though.
