Historia
All Mina ever wanted was to escape her father's control. Half human, half vampire, she lived eternally torn between two worlds, never fully experiencing the pleasures of either until her father chose her as the pawn in his latest political move, gifting her to the darkly powerful and dangerously seductive Malachi Zion. Malachi is not a vampire to be trifled with. He rules with an iron fist and has a reputation for the darkest of sins. But the longer Mina spends with him, the more she realizes he's not the monster she first thought.

W.A.P. meets the Romantics Talking in Your Sleep
Revisado: 07-10-23
Let's begin by saying that this is a low plot, high smut story. If you are looking for any real complexity, this is not it. However, if you are looking to get your smut tank filled with a POV from a female perspective, come on down, the reservoir is full of consent, sex, lite cheesy plot, mo' sex, and undertones of Bella book 7 faux empowerment.

Historia
Tom Felton’s adolescence was anything but ordinary. His early rise to fame in beloved films like The Borrowers catapulted him into the limelight, but nothing could prepare him for what was to come after he landed the iconic role of the Draco Malfoy, the bleached blonde villain of the Harry Potter movies. For the next ten years, he was at the center of a huge pop culture phenomenon and yet, in between filming, he would go back to being a normal teenager trying to fit into a normal school. Speaking with great candor and his signature humor, Tom shares his experience.

Delightful and mesmerizing
Revisado: 11-22-22
This was an enjoyable read that had me laughing in conspiracy with Tom in his moments of sharing his mischievousness and insights. I also made me pause to think and appreciate life in it's many incarnations.
His experiences in the Harry Potter set felt like a real special treat, and his journey to adulthood are absolutely relatable.

That moment when you clapped and no one was there
Revisado: 07-22-17
The awkward moment when the book is done and you get up to give it a standing ovation, but nobody else is in your house with you... yeah, I did that and I don't care who knows about it.
I don't even know what to tell you readers, Kevin Hart delivered a funny, touching, inspirational and honest book. His story is about hard work, risk and luck. His issues with money, women and peeing. It was 11 hours, and I enjoyed every minute of them. Every. Minute. He is able to weave his life stories into a cohesive narrative that shows the reader how in life, humans have two options: look back, or look forward. That said, his book does not feel prescriptive. It is of the "you do you discipline," which I deeply appreciated.
Narration: do not read this book. You will miss one of the best performances by Kevin Hart if you do. Get it!
@KevinHart, if you read this review,: I have removed you from my drinking list, listen, I have a lot of doors in the house, so.. yeah. BUT I have added you to the dance, board game, laugh list, so don't feel bad.

Give me Suki, Katniss, WW but not this boredom
Revisado: 07-06-17
This book has an interesting premise, but it was not able to keep my attention. At the end of the day, I did not care for the humans so the antagonists, Sidhe, were rendered ineffective, and don't even get me started about Conner, what in the name of all vampires and supernaturals was that about--Just like this sentence, it makes no sense.
I feel like Hunger Games, Suki Stackhouse, Mercy Thompson! and other books have been able to approach similar issues with an original twist and better character development. I still think of them like long lost acquaintances. I even wonder, "hmm, what might they be doing now." I predict this book is going to fade from my memory and live in the far corners of my subconscious, along the side the horrible silk shirts I wore in the mid 90's.
Sincerely,
The recently uncurious
PS: However, If you decide to read this book, I hope you can find the care and curiosity I seemed to lost by chapter 4.

What a charming, fun, and oddly wise book. I'm a fan of GG, so learning about her life and thoughts when filming was something really fun for me, but what I liked the most had nothing to do with GG. Her truly shinning moments were when she share into her insights on love, writing, anxiety, fear and life. While this book was very light, it left me truly touched. I highly recommend it.

I was a walking bag of tears for the first 1/4
Revisado: 09-27-16
This is a very emotional piece that explores humanity and what it is made of? One of the best parts of this piece is the fact you are able to see a problem through different lenses (Scientific, Military, Educational, and the Girl with all the gifts). The narrator is really good.
It had a surprising conclusion, but do not want to spoil it. This is a book that you will not be able to put down. But be forewarn it is graphic.

Hit with this devastating barrage, Tig took her grief onstage. Days after receiving her cancer diagnosis, she broke new comedic ground, opening an unvarnished set with the words, "Good evening. Hello. I have cancer. How are you? Hi, how are you? Is everybody having a good time? I have cancer."

Raw, touching, powerful.
Revisado: 07-27-16
Prior to purchasing this book, I had purchased her recording "I have cancer," had seen her HBO special and also listened to any other of Tig's shows. Needless to say, I was/am a fan. However, I hesitated when purchasing this book because I thought, "what more tragedy/time/humor can she share?" She said it herself, she was all out of it after the 4 months of Pneumonia, C-Dif, Mom Death, Breakup, Cancer... What can she add? Heart. She can add heart people, and so she did.
When I finished the book I was not a voyeur, I was truly transformed. The Lens was inverted, and I looked at myself, my love, friends and thought about the hard questions. It was powerful, touching, funny... dark, raw. It felt like at any point either of us could have a mental breakdown or an epiphany. I highly recommend it.

I have not seen my family in 7 days
Revisado: 06-02-16
I was looking for a page turner, and guess what? I found it! If you like series like Sookie Stalkhouse, Harry Potter, Zombie Fallout... you will love this book. The characters are rich, and the plot is fast and full of twists and turns. There is no romance in this book. Instead of getting to see Mercy through the eyes of a mate, you get to see her, the stubborn, scared, independent, trouble making coyote, and that foundation has made every book after amazing. How old is she? Who knows and who cares. I don't want to spoil it for you, but trust me, I have not seen my family, dogs, friends, mirror in the last 7 days listening to the first 4 Mercy Thompson books. Oh, and the narrator is AWESOME! Ok, I have to go, my boyfriend is trying to make eye contact. I have to break it, so I can start book 5.

knock knock knocking on weight watchers world...
Revisado: 01-21-15
I read the reviews for this book, and I just did not want to believe them, so I bought it anyways. After all, Lena Dunham has made a name for herself by creating work that makes you feel mainly, uncomfortable. That same work, however, tends to make very poignant critics about youth, sexuality, body, etc., which is why I keep coming back to it, regardless of how much it makes me want to crawl out of my skin. I believe that being uncomfortable is important for growth.
I noticed that many people complaint about the book being whiny, but I feel that whiny is her brand, so I think it is unfair to critic it for that. *Before you keep reading* If you hate listening to whiny people, hypochondriacs and narcissist, I will save you sometime, do not buy this book.
Here is what I like about it, her writing. She is an wonderful writer, and one that inspires people to write more, or start writing. I like her writing choices, a lot. About the content If you have seen Girls, and Tiny Furniture, this book has nothing new to offer, but it is, nonetheless, done well.
Here is what I HATED and honestly, why I feel she owes us a partial refund... PART 2... She literally (the original literally, not the new metaphorical literally) reads out loud her food journal throughout the whole chapter. It was fine the first 5 minutes, but then it was not. I went from "interesting" to "your book is pretty small as it is, and now you are force feeding extra filler (+2000 calories) editors note: writer got lazy."
Overall, like I said, I will not dock her for the whininess, in fact she gets point for being oddly charming, but I will for the HORRIBLE idea/execution/audacity of serving us that terrible chapter.
In sum, if you are thinking of buying this book because you have tons of book credits to burn and you really like her style, do it, but know that one large part of the book is filler and a waste of your time.

Koschei the Deathless is to Russian folklore what devils or wicked witches are to Western European culture: a menacing, evil figure; the villain of countless stories that have been passed on through story and text for generations. But Koschei has never before been seen through the eyes of Catherynne Valente, whose modernized and transformed take on the legend brings the action to modern times, spanning many of the great developments of Russian history in the 20th century.

What a masterpiece!
Revisado: 01-14-15
This is one of those rare moments where I am finding it really hard to express how much I loved this book because there are too many reasons. I will attempt to cover a phew in this review, but I hope that by the time you finish this sentence you are already listening to the Deathless, and the rest won't matter.
The author paints 3 worlds with surrealistic mastery. The characters a delightfully dark, funny, touching, and memorable. The narrator is the best I have heard; I forgot at some point that she was only one person telling the story. The embroidery of Russian fairy tales and Russia's history provides depth to the narrative. This is the story of a character coming into their own agency. The saddest sweetest thing you will read.
Really, why are you still reading my review. Put on your war paint and click on the purchase button, Baba Yaga is waiting for you.
