This book is all about self-esteem, or should I say self-assertion. It has an easy to understand moral, stand up for yourself, and conveys the theme with ease. If your child has difficulties expressing what they want, or if you yourself need a reminder, give this book a listen.

I see a lot of children's books that beat readers to death with their meaning, not knowing that children by default hate this. Though "the little rose" certainly has a strong message of encouragement, it sticks to its metaphor and delivers that medicine with ease. If you have a child that feels out of place, even though you know they are destined for great things, buy this book now.
