This is a story about parenting presented in a post-apocalyptic, scifi setting. For those who are sensitive to swearing, there is that, but honestly, I'd still let my child listen. This is a story of life truths presented in a humorous fashion.

I love not only the story but how Ron Dirks narrates, so expressive and flowing. This is definitely a series I'll listen to again and again, especially when I need an uncontrollable laugh and a little cry. ❤

I love this romping adventure through the multiverse and how well the author reads it. Only listen/read if you aren't easily offended by a healthy dose of swearing.

A beautiful word painting

Don't let the cover fool you. This book is anything but plain. Patricia McKillip paints lustrous worlds with her words and this book is no different. I highly recommend listening or reading to her works.

not really for kids

He starts out by saying it's a book of short stories for kids, but it's really not, at least not for sensitive kids. it's very dark for kids stories. Maybe young adult.... I do, as always, love his performance but I'm glad I chose not to listen to this with my son.

We listen to this book at least a couple times a week. My son loves the hilarious, adventurous tale and I love anything that's read by Neil Gaiman. He does all the voices to perfection and his voice is pure joy to listen to.

dated but still great

A well performed rendition of a great Pratchett book. I really hope for Johnny and the Bomb to come out in my region. It makes no sense that I can buy the first and third in the series but not the second. 😭😭😭

the lisp is grating

I wanted to like this but the sugary lisp was grating and they rhyming was forced. This is probably one of those books that's better with picture. I actually felt pretty insulted by the lisp. My son has apraxia and has trouble pronouncing certain letters correctly. It's just taking the piss to do so when you yourself do not have such a difficulty.

Neil Gaiman not only writes the best books, he is also the best story teller. I could (and do) listen to him for hours.

Good, but where is the last part of the book?

This is only most of the book. It is wonderful to hear Douglas Adams read his own novel, but it is disappointing to not have the whole book.
