Historia
The Vendée Globe Race is one of the world’s toughest sporting events: a single-handed, non-stop lap of the planet, with no assistance. The route takes competitors around the fringes of Antarctica, tackling terrifying conditions in the Southern Ocean before rounding Cape Horn. In My Element is the gripping and uncompromising story of Pip’s incredible journey, but it’s about so much more than sailing.

Historia
The successful 1776 revolt against British rule in North America has been hailed almost universally as a great step forward for humanity. But the Africans then living in the colonies overwhelmingly sided with the British. In this trailblazing book, Gerald Horne shows that in the prelude to 1776, the abolition of slavery seemed all but inevitable in London, delighting Africans as much as it outraged slaveholders, and sparking the colonial revolt.

A Great Book on American History
Revisado: 06-28-20
When I picked up this book I was looking for a different narrative than what one may normally find concerning the American Revolution. I found it. This book gives you a different look at the causes and inevitably of the Revolution, the Civil War, and points to the causes of the civil unrest we are seeing today. While these causes have always been apparent, Gerald Horne explains them, and goes into the details, in such a way that it transformed my thoughts on American History. Before he did it, I would have said it couldn't be done. My only regret is, Audible only has a couple of his books. Regarding the narrator, I thought he did a very good job.

Enjoyed the first book. This one seemed hurried. Not well thought out. I'll have to catch the third book cheap before I'll finish the series...

Off The Tracks
Revisado: 04-17-14
I've enjoyed the series. The storyline seemed to stray, and go off the tracks in this book. Perhaps this was in part, due to the narration. Mr. Schirner has a fine voice, but he doesn't narrate woman or children very well. I found it to be quite distracting. I will now have to decide whether to continue with this series, skip to the end where the narrator changes back or just go another way...

Historia
Working on the case, LAPD detective Harry Bosch is reminded of the primal police rule he learned long ago: Don't look for the facts, but the glue that holds them together. Soon Harry's making some very dangerous connections, starting with a dead cop and leading to a bloody string of murders that wind from Hollywood Boulevard to the back alleys south of the border.

Mixed Emotions
Revisado: 03-12-14
In the end I liked it. The story came around very nicely. But, I guess I'm not a Dick Hill fan. Sorry Dick. Your one of the greats, but there's something about the style that doesn't always work for me. Perhaps it's because he's done so many books, that his distinctive style blurs the characters for me. Not sure about that, but I'm sure I'll be listening to this duo again.

Historia
Stephen King returns to the characters and territory of one of his most popular novels ever, The Shining, in this instantly riveting novel about the now middle-aged Dan Torrance (the boy protagonist of The Shining) and the very special 12-year-old girl he must save from a tribe of murderous paranormals. This is an epic war between good and evil, a gory, glorious story that will thrill the millions of hyper-devoted fans of The Shining and wildly satisfy anyone new to the territory of this icon in the King canon.
