I love the spenser series and this continues hitting the familiar themes with new twists. I finished in 2 days and am wanting another now. finally I could listen to joe Mantegna read a meny board. he acts out the different characters.

This is good but ends suddenly. Left me a little dissatisfied.
Im assuming was done to write another book. I'll probably get the next one but just know that going into this one.

Should have listened to negative reviews

I saw the negative reviews but disregarded them cause I enjoy the Stone Barrington series. The political focus of making the vilians be republican or conservatives and the left being the good guys has gotten so old to me and very low level or basic. The series used to offer some complexity but has lost that with this one
I am tired of Wood's views dominating his story. Doesn't matter which side you are on this should be entertainment. The blatant disregard for his readers is the end for me.
Overall enjoy Robert's read just not the series. After buying everyone of these I'm finally out and will not buy anymore and suggest you do the same.
Sad ending to what was a good relationship.

this was a wild ride! This was a classic Stone Barrington mystery with multiple story line. This is why I liked these novels. The author had moved away in recent novels but this returned him to greatness.
