Historia
The continuing adventures of the starship A.S.F. Willful Child. Its mission: to seek out strange new worlds on which to plant the Terran flag, to subjugate and if necessary obliterate new life-forms, to boldly blow the... And so we join the not-terribly-bright but exceedingly cock-sure Captain Hadrian Sawback and his motley crew on board the Starship Willful Child for a series of devil-may-care, near-calamitous and downright chaotic adventures through "the infinite vastness of interstellar space."

Astoundingly Hilarious
Revisado: 02-28-20
The story, second to none, essentially imagine what it must have been like for Starfleet to read Kirk's captain logs and you have Willful Child.
MacLeod is quite possibly the best narrator possible for this series, his wide range of character voices truly bring this story to life on a never before seen level.

Alien spies, bloody politics, and apocalyptic world war action in this stunning conclusion to the Lives of Tao trilogy. Five years have passed since the events in The Deaths of Tao. The world is split into pro-Prophus and pro-Genjix factions and is poised on the edge of a devastating new world war. A Genjix scientist who defects to the other side holds the key to preventing bloodshed on an almost unimaginable scale.

Everything you want in a sci-fi action adventure
Revisado: 06-27-17
So with the completion of the third book in this trilogy, I have now finished 8 books in the month of June. I've traveled the stories of Norse Mythology, to the not so distant and bleak futures of Ready Player One and Nexus, but this last series has been breathtaking at times.
The Lives of Tao by Wesley Chu has nearly everything I could ever want in a book: action, drama, humor, sadness, history, aliens, surprising depth, amazing characters, and character interactions done so well it's like kicking back and having a beer with em.
Hell there were multiple times I had to pause the audio book because I was laughing too hard and couldn't pay attention.
If you're a fan of John Wick, Jason Bourne, or James Bond I know you'll love it as much as I do.
Even if you're not a fan of sci-fi, I'd still recommend this book, cause in a lot of ways it's actually very sci-fi lite, cause it's not little green men in UFOs, or traveling through space, and you can almost forget about the alien presence at times, almost.
I hope anyone who picks it up enjoys it as much as I have.

Historia
This is a tale of sorrow, a tale of survival, a tale of one man's search for meaning in his universe, and how that search, and the indomitable will that drove it, gave birth to a legend.

Amazing
Revisado: 08-05-16
Simply put, it's one of the best books I've ever read. I rarely reread books, even ones I enjoy greatly because of lack of surprises at second run through, this book I've completed three times. Of course while still waiting on book three, it's possible I'll reread two or three more times. There's not a lot I could tell you beyond read it for yourself and get lost in a world so well written you'll forget to come up for air.
