Historia
The cabin had always been a special retreat for Isherwood Williams, a haven from the demands of society. But one day while hiking, Ish was bitten by a rattlesnake, and the solitude he had so desired took on dire new significance. Ish headed home when he finally felt himself again—and noticed the strangeness almost immediately. No cars passed him on the road; the gas station not far from his cabin looked abandoned; and he was shocked to see the body of a man on the roadside near a small town. Without a radio or phone, Ish had no idea of humanity’s abrupt demise.

the most profound sci Fi I have ever read
Revisado: 03-11-22
I didn't even realize this book was encroaching on a century old until half way through. such a beautiful story wrapped up in thought provoking ideas that left me just thinking afterwards. I developed an immense attachment to the characters and found myself also compelled by their ideas and way of thinking. this book also handled the process of aging in a way I have never read before and is in all ways a masterpiece. the fact I didn't know about or read this book earlier saddens me greatly.

Historia
After forming a coalition of human resistance against the enemy invasion, Dalinar Kholin and his Knights Radiant have spent a year fighting a protracted, brutal war. Neither side has gained an advantage, and the threat of a betrayal by Dalinar’s crafty ally Taravangian looms over every strategic move. Now, as new technological discoveries by Navani Kholin’s scholars begin to change the face of the war, the enemy prepares a bold and dangerous operation. The arms race that follows will challenge the very core of the Radiant ideals.

Not the best book in the series so far, still good
Revisado: 03-18-21
I see a lot of mixed reviews about this book. The middle of it is certainly a bit of a trudge but that has been brandon sanderson a method for all of the storm light archive books. This book was indeed slower than others, but not by as much as it may seem if it's been a while since you've read the previous entries.
The main story followed in this is one of the singers, I found the over arching story fascinating but the delivery was not suited for me, it's possible that the main reason is just me not being able to keep up with all the names or recall when things happened. the singer story is disjointed, but only gives context clues for when it occured, this was my greatest issue with the book.
Overall I did enjoy it, I wish there were more main character interactions but every book seems to split them apart for a reuniting.
I found this book an adequate continuation of the storm light archive.

Historia
In a prosperous yet gruesomely violent near future, superhero vigilantes battle thugs whose heads are full of supervillain fantasies. The peace is kept by a team of smooth, well-dressed negotiators called The Men in Fancy Suits. Meanwhile a young girl is caught in the middle and thinks the whole thing is ridiculous. Zoey, a recent college graduate with a worthless degree, makes a reluctant trip into the city after hearing that her estranged con artist father died in a mysterious yet spectacular way.

A wonderfully performed high school student novel
Revisado: 05-01-18
first off, delivery is AMAZING! I can't overstate this enough. Every character has their own voice and yet every voice is cut from the same cloth which makes it feel like this story is being passionately told to you from an exceptional orator.
that said, the actual content leaves a lot to be desired. If you're looking for a toothless Ready Player One this book is for you. While entertaining, there is no character developmnet, no depth, and no character arc for literally any of the one dimensional characters.
it's hard to write something so scathing about a book I sincerely enjoyed listening to, but I refuse to lie. This is the CSI, Big Bang Theory, Die Hard 3+ of the book realm. Its an interesting and captivating, although predictable and rather mediocre book.
I recommend reading this book as brain comfort food. Its the grilled cheese of books... now I'm hungry.

This book is intended for individuals who want to start practicing Stoicism in their lives. If you’re a beginner, striving to become a Stoic, you’ve got the right book. This book is a beginner’s guide and not an in-depth discussion of the philosophy of Stoicism. Furthermore, it is presented in simple language that anyone can grasp easily.

shorter than I would have liked but...
Revisado: 05-01-18
offered a lot for an uncommitted stoic like myself. While this book lacks the depth I've become accustomed to, it simplifies a lot of the practices into actionable steps. This book fills a hole I knew I had, but I wouldn't recommend it as an introduction to Stoicism. For that, try "The Obstacle Is The Way" or "A Guide To The Good Life"
