Historia
While on her three-month marriage-and-motherhood sabbatical in the country, Jo bumps into an old friend, Fiona, who invites her on a "sacred silent walk" to mark her 57th birthday – - the first since her husband, Ben, died. The last thing Jo wants is to share anything about herself - these are Fiona’s friends, not hers. And what’s she going to say? That her young adult children have made life choices she doesn’t understand? That she has no idea who she is anymore? That everything is falling apart - even her happy marriage to Frank?

Exceptional
Revisado: 10-13-21
This book exceeded my very high expectations. I wish I could unread it just so I could start all over again. I identified with so much of the good, the bad and the ugly, and it made me feel like I am in good company on my middle age roller coaster.

Historia
We expect our judges to be honest and wise. Their integrity and impartiality are the bedrock of the entire judicial system. We trust them to ensure fair trials, to protect the rights of all litigants, to punish those who do wrong, and to oversee the orderly and efficient flow of justice. But what happens when a judge bends the law or takes a bribe? It’s rare, but it happens. Lacy Stoltz is an investigator for the Florida Board on Judicial Conduct. She is a lawyer, not a cop, and it is her job to respond to complaints dealing with judicial misconduct.

a friend recommended this and I have no idea why. by far the worst Grisham I have read. and the dramatic reading made it even more unpleasant. I regret the purchase
