Incredible book with excellent research and honest, transparent personal disclosure by the authors as to what human behavior is really motivated by on an unconscious basis. Explains art, education, charity, politics, body language, and many other aspects that we remain oblivious to, which is the source of the title, The elephant in the brain. highly recommended!

Like all his books, Harari presents a mountain of evidence and anecdotes supporting his thesis. Which is "we better be careful in our creation and use of AI." The juxtaposition of order and truth is brilliantly elucidated. Be advised, this is not a book that accentuates the positive potentialities, but highlights the disastrous actual, as well as potential
pathology, in a way that is not apocalyptic.

first the negative; the narration by the author was literally the worst I've ever heard. his nail scratching on a blackboard voice and rendition of other authors was truly viscerally cringe-worthy. the producers were either drunk, incompetent, or didn't even listen to the narration.
positively-like Eric's other book I've read, techgnosis, this is an utterly brilliant masterpiece. Eric is rigorously academic, entertaining, and greatly inspiring in weaving together and defining what high weirdness actually is, almost from a clinical standpoint. I read this book and listened to it which speaks to the content being incredibly valuable. but audible should be ashamed at the narrative performance. really!

This book was much more technical than his first book. I understand the need to lay out the mechanics for potential multiple timelines, but the real punchlines came at the end of the book for me, which are what does this all mean living in multiple timelines? ultimately, he's saying the same thing that all spiritual traditions say which is our purpose is to make the highest choices to be the best version of ourselves we can be. the video game metaphor is certainly a modern applicable metaphor.

a stunning discourse on psychedelics, their relationship to consciousness and human evolution! as timely now as it was when it was performed some 20 years ago. Terrence points the way for us to end our delusions, stop playing the game of the power mongers, and free ourselves in the imaginal realm.
