Historia
While the War on Drugs may have sounded like a good idea at one time, the consequences have been catastrophic. From physicians persecuted for providing health care to their patients to parents grieving the loss of their children to overdose or prison - we've all become victims of this war. Our health, our families, our assets, our safety and our freedom are at risk: One in three adults in the U.S. now has a criminal record. In War on Us, Colleen Cowles raises the alarm and offers practical, proven reforms.

Of Relevance to All of Us
Revisado: 10-02-23
Extremely well written, narrated and relevant. To anyone who is or has experienced pain or loved someone in pain, this book is an explosive outing of the War on Drugs which has indeed become the War on All of Us. A must read book.

Historia
It was one of the most searing images of the twentieth century: two young boys, two princes, walking behind their mother’s coffin as the world watched in sorrow—and horror. As Princess Diana was laid to rest, billions wondered what Prince William and Prince Harry must be thinking and feeling—and how their lives would play out from that point on.

Disappointing
Revisado: 01-13-23
Harry is sadly a very sick human being. What 40 year old man still refers to his mother as ‘Mommy’ , whines over a dust up with his brother (also known as “he broke my necklace and I landed in the dog’s bowl”), talks about his frostbitten ‘todger’, admits to killing 25 enemy soldiers and refers to them as just chess pieces he took off a board? I found this book to be in very poor taste, written by someone whose only goal in life is revenge. How very, very sad but I’d rather not waste my time on any more of this soap opera.

Historia
In the spring of 1942, young Elzbieta Rabinek is aware of the swiftly growing discord just beyond the courtyard of her comfortable Warsaw home. She has no fondness for the Germans who patrol her streets and impose their curfews, but has never given much thought to what goes on behind the walls that contain her Jewish neighbors. She knows all too well about German brutality - and that it's the reason she must conceal her true identity. But in befriending Sara, Elzbieta makes a discovery that propels her into a dangerous world of deception and heroism.

Story ok but narration is horrible
Revisado: 11-16-22
Why do the male lead voices all sound cartoon like? Story is alright but I couldn’t listen to the narrator. This is also NOT Rimmer’s best book either.

Historia
In the snowbound city of Kiev, wry and bookish history student Mila Pavlichenko organizes her life around her library job and her young son—but Hitler’s invasion of Russia sends her on a different path. Given a rifle and sent to join the fight, Mila must forge herself from studious girl to deadly sniper—a lethal hunter of Nazis known as Lady Death. When news of her three hundredth kill makes her a national heroine, Mila finds herself torn from the bloody battlefields of the eastern front and sent to America on a goodwill tour.

Mischaracterized time period
Revisado: 07-15-22
Yes, historical fiction is fiction but the time period should be accurately depicted. Lenin’s Russia is depicted as a rocking place with cozy country homes, plenty of good food and a Baywatch atmosphere down at the Black Sea. But then the Motherland is invaded and upstanding young Russian men and women are soldiers. I had to quit at the part where a young rape victim is comforted by the upstanding young Russian soldiers! That did it for me. Russia’s troops were feared because they raped every woman and girl in Berlin. Berliners were feverishly trying to reach the British or American held sectors so they would not be raped and abused by the animal like Russian soldiers. I could not finish this book.

Excellent
Revisado: 05-23-22
I’m not sure what other reviewers are talking about when they say there was nothing “new” in this book or that the authors narration was awful because I couldn’t disagree more with both statements. I learned quite a bit about the inner workings of the Royal Family and this is definitely the best book I’ve ever read on the topic. I highly recommend this audio book.

Historia
Ryland Grace is the sole survivor on a desperate, last-chance mission - and if he fails, humanity and the Earth itself will perish. Except that right now, he doesn't know that. He can't even remember his own name, let alone the nature of his assignment or how to complete it. All he knows is that he's been asleep for a very, very long time. And he's just been awakened to find himself millions of miles from home, with nothing but two corpses for company.

Unbelievable
Revisado: 09-09-21
This story is utterly unbelievable and cliche as you can get. Same formula as The Martian - just a regular guy turns out to be something incredible- like save the world. A high school science teacher is the only man in the world who can save us all. The Dutch character who runs the show is so ridiculous. Save your money

Disappointed
Revisado: 09-01-21
The story line was a creative one, but King just didn’t bring it home for me. There was too much that was cliche in this title. The bad guy who’s really a good guy, or is he? The book was very redundant for me and the character of Alice was hard to buy into. We basically have a Bonnie and Clyde story, sort of. I am just disappointed, feeling that King could have made this a more believable tale.

This book is not objective in the least. It was written and narrated by Meghan’s ear piece and ‘official biographer’, Omid Scobie. I am so sorry I purchased it. At the time I didn’t understand who Omid Scobie is. He looks like a teenager. Very disappointed.

Historia
With the Beatles, John Lennon surpasses his youthful dreams, achieving a level of superstardom that defies classification. “We were the best bloody band there was,” he says. “There was nobody to touch us.” Nobody except the original nowhere man, Mark David Chapman. Chapman once worshipped his idols from afar - but now harbors grudges against those, like Lennon, whom he feels betrayed him. He’s convinced Lennon has misled fans with his message of hope and peace. And Chapman’s not staying away any longer.

Book with an agenda
Revisado: 06-24-20
This man suffers from tunnel vision, but my main complaint is that much of what he claims is absolutely unsubstantiated. Just another salvo in the witch hunt for innocent people with intractable able pain who have no other options. But I guess all the back slapping for writing a supportive book for all those doctors seeking redemption and forgiveness who dropped their patients in need must be worth it. You’re a small man.
