Historia
Mitch Peabody was learning pretty fast that the life of a private detective was nothing like the movies. He’d envisioned a world of tough-talking detectives and smart-mouthed, stunning dames. Instead he saw case after case of cheating husbands, suspicious wives and unsuspecting mistresses…until she walked through the door.

Not the Best Narrator

Any additional comments?
The story was cute and the characters where interesting and funny. I bought the book becuase of the PI aspect, since I loved Fast Women by Jennifer Cruise. And maybe if there was a different narrator, like say Sandra Burr who did Fast Women and Agnus and the Hitman, I would have enjoyed the story more. There was no inflection or emotion and it was hard to hear who was talking because Lola Holiday's voice didn't change to match the character.
I did finish the story because I wanted to know how the relationship between Mae and Mitch would develop through the story, especially since neither seemed even remotely interested in the other at the beginning of their association. And I wanted to know who did it, if in fact someone did do it.

Historia
Owen is the organizer of the Montgomery clan, running the family’s construction business with an iron fist - and an even less flexible spreadsheet. And though his brothers give him grief for his compulsive list making, the Inn BoonsBoro is about to open right on schedule. The only thing Owen didn’t plan for was Avery MacTavish... Avery’s popular pizza place is right across the street from the inn, giving her a firsthand look at its amazing renovation - and a newfound appreciation for Owen.

Young Love is the Only Love for these Two
Revisado: 04-13-16
Who was your favorite character and why?
Avery is my favorite character of all the books in the triology. She is the same sassy, out-spoken, honest friend in every book. She is strong willed and vulnerable at the same time.
What about MacLeod Andrews’s performance did you like?
This book literally made me laugh out loud and it had a lot to do with the narrator. Such as Owen being the neat, tidy, control-freak brother finding his mother in a lip-lock with Avery's dad (both single) and his reaction to it. His shocked, can't form a coherent thought reaction and his mother's calm, 'this is no big deal' demeanor was hilarious.
Any additional comments?
A great continuation of the BoonsBoro triology. Although there wasn't much interaction, in a romantic way, between Avery and Owen in the first book "The Next Always' you could tell there was an under current of some kind. Especially, in one scene where she tries to protect Claire and instead of calling out Beckett's name, who Claire is involved in, she calls out Owen's name. I love the joke of Owen being Avery's first boyfriend when it was a game and how their friendship keeps them close, so they can become the couple they do in this story.

Historia
Ryder is the hardest Montgomery brother to figure out - with a tough-as-nails outside and possibly nothing too soft underneath. He’s surly and unsociable, but when he straps on a tool belt, no woman can resist his sexy swagger. Except, apparently, Hope Beaumont, the innkeeper of his own Inn BoonsBoro.... As the former manager of a D.C. hotel, Hope is used to excitement and glamour, but that doesn’t mean she can’t appreciate the joys of small-town living. She’s where she wants to be - except for in her love life....

Rough and Abrupt meet Perfect and Patient
Revisado: 04-13-16
Would you consider the audio edition of The Perfect Hope to be better than the print version?
What did you like best about this story?
This is the last book in the triology. Not only does the story continue for the other characters from the previous two books but this book shows where the build-up brings the last two remaining 'main' characters. Also, you get to find more out about Lizzie, the resident, hopeless-romantic ghost.
What does MacLeod Andrews bring to the story that you wouldn’t experience if you just read the book?
MacLeod Andrews bring emotion to the characters. He brings the rude, surly, abrupt Ryder and the patient, politically correct Hope to life.
Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?
I definitely could!

Historia
The historic hotel in Boonsboro has endured war and peace, the changing of hands, and even rumored hauntings. Now it’s getting a major face-lift from the Montgomery brothers and their eccentric mother. As the architect in the family, Beckett’s social life consists mostly of talking shop over pizza and beer. But there’s another project he’s got his eye on: the girl he’s been waiting to kiss since he was sixteen.

Sweet
Revisado: 04-13-16
Would you listen to The Next Always again? Why?
Yes and I have multiple times. I finally bought the book because it is easier then going to the library. Even though I know the story, the plot is interesting, the characters complex and I love the family and community.
Who was your favorite character and why?
I love Avery. She is fun, out-spoken and real. She doesn't hold anything back.
What about MacLeod Andrews’s performance did you like?
He did a great job changing his voice to make each character there own person. Best part is he kept them all the same in the other two books, "The Last Boyfriend" and "Perect Hope".
Did you have an extreme reaction to this book? Did it make you laugh or cry?
This book made me even more sentatmental than I already am. I love love and happiness. I love that Claire was a strong, feminine woman. And a mother. She has 'baggage' and was firm with her children come first mentality. Beckett is what every girl would dream of if in Claire's situation - someone willing to step up to the plate and try.

Love the Si-Fi
Revisado: 04-13-16
Would you recommend this audiobook to a friend? If so, why?
Yes, Jayne Ann Krentz, Jayne Castle, has a great imagination and talent for writing stories that keep your attention. As well as the narrator, Joyce Bean - she does a great job of making each character an individual character, with tone of voice and with emotion.
Which scene was your favorite?
When Alice and Drake first arrive on Rainshadow Island and have to make camp for the night. They encounter creatures that could only come into being with the exposure of radiation. With detail given to the creatures appearance it is almost as if you are encountering them yourself.
Any additional comments?
When writing futuristic-paranormal romanaces, Jayne Ann Krentz writes under the pen name 'Jayne Castle'. Having read and listened to many books written under this pen name, I can say the plot line is always different, even if the setting are similar. The character are complex and interesting. The story has your attention as soon as it starts.
Deception Cove: A Rainshadow Novel, Book 2 is no different. The attention to the detail of the characters (appearance and emotion) and the environment (animal and plant) is perfect. If you were to close your eyes while listening you could actually see the imagine in your head.

Historia
Mary Alice Brannigan doesn’t believe in the supernatural. Nor does she expect to find that Dreamland, the decaying amusement park she’s been hired to restore, is a prison for the five Untouchables, the most powerful demons in the history of the world. Plus, there’s a guy she’s falling hard for, and there’s something about him that’s not quite right.

Maybe a Different Narrator
Revisado: 04-13-16
Would you recommend this book to a friend? Why or why not?
Maybe - the story line is interesting but I hesitate because of the narration.
How did the narrator detract from the book?
There was no inflection when a character was speaking or thinking, or when reading non-character text. I kept getting distracted, trying to remember which character was the 'star' for that scene. Maybe different tones and accents?
