God I love an English romance

Joanna Lindsey does it again. I love the way she makes me feel like I’m in the story. How I am the one being swept away. I can see myself in the beautiful era gowns dancing with ease across a ballroom floor. Georgiana is a bit naive for being a soon to be “captain of her own ship”. But that’s pretty apparent from the very start. I can just see her face and expressions.
The reader was good. She was able to change voices and characters with ease. Her voice was pleasant and at the right pace.

The narrator kills this book

This is probably one of my favorite guilty pleasure stories. I was excited to see its title on Audible and looked forward, anticipatorily, to listening to it. Unfortunately, I’m just at the beginning and I’m wondering if I even want to listen to the rest of it. I really thought this book should be narrated by a young English female voice. Soft but strong. This is a fantastic book though. Robin McKinley does a great job bringing you into the character. And the story is very mystical.

One of my favorites

I’ve listen to this version multiple times for several reasons. The narrator does a fantastic job with voice inflection and is very good at character change.
The story itself is told as though it is an autobiography. I love documentaries and the backstory behind history, so this was a very easy story to hear. The author did a great job with setting the scenes and movement of the story. The perfect number of characters were introduced and each one had their own personality that you could hear through the narrator and feel through the author. I really enjoyed the story.
