Historia
Winston Churchill remains one of the most revered figures of the twentieth century, his name a byword for courageous leadership. But the Churchill we know today is a mixture of history and myth, authored by the man himself. In Mirrors of Greatness, prizewinning historian David Reynolds reevaluates Churchill’s life by viewing it through the eyes of his allies and adversaries, even his own family, revealing Churchill’s lifelong struggle to overcome his political failures and his evolving grasp of what “greatness” truly entailed.

Great Book…horrendous performance
Revisado: 02-14-25
I loved the entire book and the way it was written . My only complaint was the performance. Is there anyone else who could mispronounce names and places even more? He’s not familiar with French or German pronunciation and this is a problem. Hope professor Reynolds didn’t pay too much.

Historia
The Second World War lasted for 2,174 days, cost $1.5 trillion, and claimed the lives of more than 50 million people. Why did the Axis lose? And could they, with a different strategy, have won? Andrew Roberts's acclaimed new history has been hailed as the finest single-volume account of this epic conflict. From the western front to North Africa, from the Baltic to the Far East, he tells the story of the war - the grand strategy and the individual experience, the cruelty and the heroism - as never before.

Another rehashing of old information
Revisado: 05-28-24
This story was best told by William L. Shirer in “The Rise and Fall of Nazi Germany.” This is just a retelling of the same information we had in the late 40’s from the captured German documents. Andrew Roberts tells us nothing new regardless of the “extensive research” that was done.
