I have always appreciated the depth and quality of information that Mitch Horowitz brings to his work, and Modern Occultism is no exception. The book is packed with historical insights and intriguing facts that are a hallmark of Horowitz's writing.

Modern Occultism delves into the history and evolution of occult practices from ancient times to the present day. Horowitz explores various aspects of occultism, including mysticism, alchemy, spiritualism, and the influence of esoteric movements on modern culture. He provides a thorough examination of key figures and events that have shaped the occult tradition, offering a comprehensive overview for readers interested in the subject.

However, I found this particular book to be interminably long. The content felt stretched out, making it a bit of a slog to get through. Additionally, if you've read one of Horowitz's books, you've pretty much read them all. There is a significant overlap in the information presented across his various works, which can make them feel repetitive.

While Modern Occultism is a solid read for those new to Horowitz or the subject, long-time readers might find it redundant. The book's length and repetitive content may detract from the otherwise valuable insights it offers.

I recently listened to the audiobook version of "Sales And Selling Yourself: If you can make someone laugh they can be yours" by Rick Breitweiser and I must say, it was one of the most enjoyable and informative audiobooks I have ever come across.

The author's humorous approach to sales makes this book not only engaging but also memorable. Breitweiser uses relatable anecdotes and clever humor throughout the book to drive home important sales strategies and techniques. It's clear that the author has a wealth of experience in the sales industry, and his advice is presented in a clear and concise manner that's easy to understand and apply.

The narration is also top-notch. The narrator's engaging voice and pacing make it easy to follow along, and the production quality is excellent. I found myself listening to this audiobook for hours on end, and I feel like I learned a lot about how to improve my sales skills.

Overall, I highly recommend "Sales And Selling Yourself: If you can make someone laugh they can be yours" to anyone looking to improve their sales skills or simply looking for an entertaining and informative listen. This audiobook truly is a game-changer, and I give it five stars!

The Secret but more Christian

A classic in the “Law Of Attraction” canon. A bit heavier with the Christian stuff, so if that Jesus jive annoys you, you’d do better to stick with the more secular stuff.

The narrator here sounds like he’s playing on 33 RPM when he’s supposed to be at 45. I guess the intention is he’s supposed to sound slightly sinister or something and maybe that would work more for a darker occult or horror narrative, but here it seems a bit odd.
