Historia
From Scirland to the farthest reaches of Eriga, Isabella, Lady Trent is known to be the world’s preeminent dragon naturalist. Here at last, in her own words, is the true story of a pioneering spirit who risked her reputation and her prospects to satisfy her scientific curiosity; of how she sought true love and happiness despite her lamentable eccentricities; and how she made the first of many historic discoveries that would change the world forever.

Drags a bit. Not my favourite novel.
Revisado: 06-20-24
Though the story is set up beautifully, the novel tends to drag on. Being written from a scientific background, it seems a bit cold and emotionless.

Historia
The tenuous balance of the Isle of Cadence is under threat from Bane, the spirit of the north wind. In the west, Adaira struggles to find her place. And, though magic blooms there, the spirits suffer beneath Bane’s harsh power, felt in every gust of wind. In the east, Jack Tamerlaine is adrift without Adaira, until he acquires a mission destined to lead him back to her. But among the Tamerlaines sickness is spreading and Torin desperately strikes a bargain with the spirits—a folly at any time.

Loved this book. I love this different insight to the mansion. My favourite, however, is Crystal’s phenomenal telling of her story in an entertaining and intriguing way.

Yet another fantastic book by Miller! I couldn’t put it down. The intro was a bit slow but so necessary. It exceeded all expectations. Cannot recommend it enough. The narrator is amazing and embodies the characters in a phenomenal way.

A good listen, not the best
Revisado: 03-28-24
Though the narrator’s performance was great and I initially really enjoyed the story, it fell a bit flat. The world that is created seems very interesting but could have been fleshed out a bit. The story had a fantastic set up but the ending was a disappointment. I am in a love hate relationship with this book.

Historia
From the Orange Prize-winning, internationally best-selling author of The Song of Achilles comes the powerful story of the mythological witch Circe, inspired by Homer's Odyssey. In the house of Helios, god of the sun and mightiest of the Titans, a daughter is born. But Circe has neither the look nor the voice of divinity and is scorned and rejected by her kin. Increasingly isolated, she turns to mortals for companionship, leading her to discover a power forbidden to the gods: witchcraft.
