In midwinter in an English village, a teenage girl has gone missing and everyone is called upon to join the search. A charming, often amusing, story with a tragedy at its core

A lovely story of a village coalescing around and beyond a horrible event, which is never described . The narration is perfect. I have listened to it twice and probably will again. The writing, the use of third person narrative, the descriptions of the natural world surrounding the town and the characters living within it- I can’t praise it enough.
