Annoying
Revisado: 08-29-24
The narrator consistently confuses “she” with “he” - making it difficult to follow and extremely annoying. I couldn’t get past the 3rd chapter. Waste of money; not worth the time.

Slow start - BUT stick with it! Totally worth it.
Revisado: 12-23-22
This story started off slow - lots of character development which at first seemed unnecessary (but was actually totally necessary). After the “meet and greet” of the characters was over the story takes off and you find yourself loving and hating the different characters in equal measure. This piece is a mixture of captivating, personal stories intertwining and connecting in meaningful ways. Really enjoyed this book and found myself looking forward to each chapter.

Historia
New York, 1998. Santiago Larrea, a wealthy Argentine diplomat, is holding court alongside his wife, Lila, and their daughter, Paloma, a college student and budding jewelry designer, at their annual summer polo match and soiree. All seems perfect in the Larreas’ world—until an unexpected party guest from Santiago's university days shakes his usually unflappable demeanor. The woman's cryptic comments spark Paloma’s curiosity about her father’s past, of which she knows little. Paloma is determined to learn more about his life in the years leading up to the dictatorship of 1976.
