the narrators voice just messed this book up for me. it's so out of character for this story. the accent just doesn't fit the story. it's an okay book, but could've been so much better is the narrator didn't have an accent. alot of instances the voice came through in plural. And who cares if Arron was gay. why does this detective keep pushing that forward as a motive to kill. This book pays more attentive to the opinion that he may have been gay, with hiv. this book isn't worth buying if you want to hear about the murders. they are just gay bashing in this book. not cool at all. I don't recommend this book. it sounds like it is written by a family member of one of the victims.

This is some great listening!

I love listening to Mr. Ballen. He has great energy while reading his stories. I've been following him on YouTube for some years now. I got my fiancé into listening to him as well. She loves his story trekking skills. There's something about his voice and his timing that keeps you interested. I'll be listening and purchasing his books as they come. I highly recommend you give this book a listen.

This book has the potential to be a 10 star! But I was highly thrown off and disrespected by the narrator. He destroyed the "Chicano language". I don't understand why you would have a Caucasian narrate a book about"Chicano Vida"??? his pronunciation was disastrous to our culture! They should've thought about that little bit of respect and courtesy to his "Chicano" readers. VIVA LA RAZA!
