When you are a dad, parenting can really sneak up on you. But when you are a stay-at-home, down in the trenches dad, you have no choice but to get up to speed pretty quickly. Even if you feel totally unprepared, it is sink or swim right from day one. In his first five years of fatherhood, Andrew Knott has learned a lot about parenting. Or more specifically, he has learned a lot about his kids and himself.

Quick, entertaining read!

I came across this author by reading a few of his articles on parenting and fatherhood on the Yahoo! newsfeed. I enjoyed his articles so much that I was pleasantly surprised when I googled him to see that he had authored a book. I quickly searched Audible and found it. Just like his articles his book is full of parenting vignettes that are humorous and fun to listen to.
The narrator does a great job narrating this book. My only complaint is that between each chapter there’s about an eight to 10 second pause before the next chapter starts. It doesn’t sound like a lot of time but 8 to 10 seconds is surprisingly long.
Overall, I enjoyed this book. It was a quick fun read that I would recommend.
