I like Luke Daniels as a narrator, but the differences between him and Vikas Adams are like the differences between bread and butter. Spoiler: Magical Synesthesia makes women sound like men, and men sound like they're all from the deep South or from France. Even after listening to the first two books, I couldn't follow this one without constantly going back 30-45 seconds each time someone spoke. As much as I relate to Dakota's books, I will not longer engage in any series where the narrator is changed. The names are pronounced differently, the pace of the book is different, and ultimately the entire series is dashed for me.

Great story, but.....

Ok, so the story itself is great. I understand that the author had no option about changing the narrator, but wow, it really ruined the adventure for me. I felt like I was starting a new book series. Vikas Adams did a wonderful job with the voice acting in the previous books. Luke Daniels, while a good narrator, makes me have to repeat sections of dialogue, as all of the characters (especially the female characters) have varying degrees of the same male voice, with southern and french accents. I haven't even yet finished the book, but I really hope it is the last one so that I can move on with my wounded heart.

Edit: After finishing the book, I am glad that the series is over. I've loved this series, and I really got to love the characters, but the voice change up, even with the lore as to why, just too negatively changed the beat of the story. Hans is by far one of my favorite characters, and I feel like he was completely replaced. Luke Daniels is really great in the Ascend Online series, but here, it just didn't measure up to the bar Vikas set. Thanks Dakota, I still can't wait for the next Completionist book to release next month!

I Wanna Join Legion!!

This book is incredible. The characters are engaging and the storyline is quite amusing, albiet kinda cheesy, but in a captivating way. I was (spoiler alert) fairly devastated when the epilogue was announced, as that sadly leads me to believe that Legion's pages are complete...

Not the strongest beginning

It was extremely difficult to get through the first few chapters. While I Love Nick Podehl's narration, the story itself is not enrapturing enough to draw me in. I have friends who have enjoyed this novel though, and we share similar interests, so it is just me. It's still worth the listen if you enjoy Podehl's reading though!

Time to Journey into The Land

Let me do you a favor. Stop whatever it is you're doing. Put whatever book Oprah told you to read down, and start The Land. I promise you, once you do, you'll be whisked away to hours, and hours, and hours of adventure, love, battles, and betrayal. I guarantee you, you WILL be back again.

If you don't find this book intriguing, then sadly, I fear that not even one of the Life Masters may have the power to save you from whatever nefarious being that is afflicting your heart and mind! The Land has so much to offer, and there's so much farther to go!
