Historia
In this newly revised and expanded edition, updated throughout with recent developments, geologist Robert Schoch builds upon his revolutionary theory that the origins of the Sphinx date back much further than 2500 BCE and examines scientific evidence of the catastrophe that destroyed early high culture nearly 12,000 years ago. Weaving together a new view of the origins and antiquity of civilization and the dynamics of the planet we live on, Schoch maintains we must heed the megalithic warning of the past and collectively prepare for future events.

Well researched. Presents a compelling narrative.
Revisado: 02-20-23
Well researched and annotated. Presents a compelling narrative for a case that suggests civilization has a rich history that is almost missing and points the way to areas that may provide more supporting evidence. Its a great listen and a great read.

Historia
In 2014's The Accidental Superpower, geopolitical strategist Peter Zeihan made the case that geographic, demographic, and energy trends were unravelling the global system. Zeihan takes the story a step further in The Absent Superpower, mapping out the threats and opportunities as the world descends into disorder.

A timely follow-up to the authors last book.
Revisado: 07-23-18
Zeihan's last book, The Accidental Superpower, was well written, well-read, and covers topics in an easy to understand way. The Absent Superpower follows-up on many of those topics with insight relevant to the rapidly changing world and adds content and topics not covered in the last book. I sincerely hope a third book relevant to the many changes that have happened since its release is in the works and available soon.

Historia
An examination of a world increasingly defined by disorder and a United States unable to shape the world in its image, from the president of the Council on Foreign Relations. Things fall apart; the center cannot hold. The rules, policies, and institutions that have guided the world since World War II have largely run their course. Respect for sovereignty alone cannot uphold order in an age defined by global challenges from terrorism and the spread of nuclear weapons to climate change and cyberspace. Meanwhile, great power rivalry is returning.

Historia
In The Accidental Superpower, international strategist Peter Zeihan examines how geography, combined with demography and energy independence, will pave the way for one of the great turning points in history, and one in which America reasserts its global dominance. No other country has a greater network of internal waterways, a greater command of deepwater navigation, or a firmer hold on industrialization technologies than America.

It's not only good to know where you and everyone else came from but the knowledge Zeihan details in this book should certainly help you in developing an informed perspective of the potential changes the recent Brexit vote could bring. This is a great listen.

Historia
With the world at war, 10 days can feel like a lifetime.... On April 30, 1945, Adolf Hitler committed suicide in a bunker in Berlin. But victory over the Nazi regime was not celebrated in Western Europe until May 8 and in Russia a day later, on the ninth. Why did a peace agreement take so much time? How did this brutal, protracted conflict coalesce into its unlikely endgame? After Hitler shines a light on 10 fascinating days after that infamous suicide that changed the course of the 20th century.

Historia
Let There Be Light presents a simple, beautiful, and elegant view of the oneness of all life, subjective and objective. It demonstrates the unity of the physical world with conscious experience of the physical world. Consciousness is not inside space and time, space and time are within consciousness; they are a special structure of the perceptual portion of consciousness.

Bridges physics and philosophy nicely and Andrew Mulcare's performance is very good. If you're interested in either topic I would recommend giving this book a chance could be a rewarding experience.
