Verghese’ ability to capture the nuance of the human spirit is captivating. I will read this book again.

Lost River
Revisado: 09-27-22
This book is an ugly story, about an American tragedy and reads like historical fiction. It is beautifully written and perfectly performed. This is the second time I have listened to it. I’m looking forward to J. Todd Scott’s next book!

This is the second time I have listened to this book and even tho I knew the story the reader and the writer are just as entertaining as the first time! The character development is excellent, the descriptions of the barren SW are so spot on, the reader feels the loneliness of the vast emptiness. Reading the 3 Sheriff Cherry books as a trilogy adds to the enjoyment!

Disappointing ending
Revisado: 03-14-22
Very engaging, believable story, but lots of loose ends and quick, unrealistic ending. Felt like Grisham got tired of writing and quickly wrapped it up.

Historia
It’s been a decade since Trumanell Branson disappeared, leaving only a bloody handprint behind. Her pretty face still hangs like a watchful queen on the posters on the walls of the town’s Baptist church, the police station, and in the high school. They all promise the same thing: We will find you. Meanwhile, Tru's brother, Wyatt, lives as a pariah in the desolation of the old family house, cleared of wrongdoing by the police but tried and sentenced in the court of public opinion and in a new documentary about the crime.

Entertaining story telling, but rapid and disappointing ending without fully fleshing out all characters and potential antagonists.
