When I applied to medical school, I never thought I'd be paying the bill by becoming a surrogate. I suppose a girl has to do what she has to do in the end, so I decided to intercept Uncle Sam before he could come for me. Funny enough, it's surprisingly easy to find willing participants. I answered an ad, and the guy showed up at the coffeehouse we agreed to meet at. He showed up frickin'...beautiful and with brown eyes that tightened my tummy in ways they probably shouldn't have. He looks familiar to me. Like I've seen him on the news or in the paper or something.

Over the top soap opera drama for no reason

Exhausting

I really wanted to like this book. I did. But the story was too descriptive in every little detail, movement, gesture, thought or supposition. This was amplified by the absolutely boring and monotone narration. I mostly gave it a two star due to the subject matter of surrogacy and the cancer survivor story.

Great story telling

Thoroughly enjoyed this book. The narrator did a great job capturing the tone of the characters. I would have given it a 5 star, but the sexual tension between the H & h got old and a bit drawn out. The rationale as to why the didn't want to act on their attraction to each other was lame and a bit immature 😒 However, I encourage and recommend purchasing the book, since it was pretty good overall.

Enjoyed the storyline but the narrator...

I decided to give the story an overall 4 star rating. Initially, I was going to give it 3 stars because the narrator was so painfully awful to listen to, but that wouldn't have been fair to the author.
I enjoyed the angst Penelope felt being left alone to tour Paris by herself. No thanks to her workaholic boyfriend. I even appreciated that she recognized her emotional hurt at being abandoned (for lack of a better word) may have been a little childish, especially since this situation really wasn't his fault. Overall, I felt that her emotional ups and downs were believable. Although, I did think she was a little naive to go off with a total stranger to explore the non-tourist areas of Paris. Will she find her HEA with Matt or will this new love interest steal her away? I recommend you listen to the story and guess for yourself.
