Painfully slow, lacking plot
Revisado: 04-29-19
I really wanted to like this book. But so many pages were taken up by mundane doldrums that I spent most of it wondering when the story would actually start. The whole first half could have been one chapter. When plot events did start happening, they lacked meaning or connection. The ideas were fascinating, but all the things about the aliens I was curious about weren’t elaborated on. And the main character got flatter and flatter as he gave the same predictable responses to each event. This book came close to being awesome, but ultimately missed.

Historia
The Celts are one of the most well-known groups in Europe and one of the least understood. Depending on which classifications are used, the Celts are also one of the oldest civilizations in Europe. In the centuries before Christ, the Celts were spread out across much of continental Europe, and though they are mostly identified with Gaul, evidence suggests they also spread as far as Portugal.

Boring
Revisado: 10-01-18
Somehow they have managed to take a fascinating subject and talk only about the tedious parts. If you want to hear any actual myths, you’ll be disappointed. This is academic nuance- etymology, historical drift, large themes. And it’s read so slow that you’ll drift to sleep before the third possible origin of the word Druid is explained.

But have you ever wondered how a religion that doesn't even have a god could have accomplished this?

Slow talker, good overview
Revisado: 09-08-16
The professor is very knowledgable, but talks so slow that it's hard to keep paying attention. It's a little hard to follow if you're totally new to Buddhism. But if you have a little base knowledge already, this is a good way to expand that.
