Absolutely worst book I’ve ever listed too. I’d like a refund. It’s that bad. Terrible story, zero help, bad narration. Sounds like a child and vulgar language. How is something so terrible allowed to be on audible. Complete rip off. And expensive. Never gets to a point. Just a story about a wanna be spoiled rock star. Living at home with parents in Santa Barbara. Don’t waste your time.
Has nothing to do with God.

This is a terrible book. If you can call it that. This information is irrelevant. You can find better info if you just search online. How someone can call this a book. I have such a hard time with e books and a woman’s narration. If you actually have a TBi this will drive you nuts. I’d like a refund.

This is out there. Completely unrealistic.
Revisado: 02-05-24
This is ridiculous. So extreme and paranoid. This is unrealistic for most people. Maybe you’ll find some good info in this extremely long winded book. The narration is not professional. Done by the author. You might gleam some useful info but keep in mind he is not a doctor.
The more I listed the more weird it gets.
Take it with a grain of salt. Maybe pick and choose what’s the most important to you.
Eat healthy as possible and exercise. Most of don’t have the time or money do do most of what he suggests.
Go for him he does. No need to over complicate life.
God Bless.

Historia
Originally published in 1903, James Allen’s classic best seller reveals the fundamental truth of human nature: “A man is literally what he thinks.” Allen’s deceptively simple principle has changed the lives of millions of people. This new edition combines As a Man Thinketh with Mastery of Destiny. In Mastery of Destiny, Allen reveals that the natural progression of human evolution is away from the evil that results from ignorance and toward ultimate good. Combined in one program, these two audiobooks offer a revolutionary outlook of empowerment.

This version narrated by women.... very annoying
Revisado: 02-27-20
The information in the book is PRICELESS! Love the book but not this version. Just purchased a version narrated by a man. I find women narration to be extremely hard to listen to for very long. Same for women dis jocks. Just something about their voices that is not soothing. It just irritated my head.
I much prefer a mans voice with authority and clearness over a women's. It's weird, I love women and women voices but every time I buy a book with a women's voice I have a hard time listeining to it for any length of time. Some are not bad, maybe deeper than others. Just something my ears are sensitive too. But the information in the book is PRICELESS!

Historia
Thousands of people have had near-death experiences, but scientists have argued that they are impossible. Dr. Eben Alexander was one of those scientists. Neurosurgeon Alexander knew that NDEs feel real, but are simply fantasies produced by brains under extreme stress. Then, Dr. Alexander’s own brain was attacked by a rare illness. The part of the brain that controls thought and emotion shut down completely. For seven days he lay in a coma. Then Alexander’s eyes popped open. He had come back. Alexander’s recovery is a medical miracle. But the real miracle of his story lies elsewhere.

Worst audio books I've ordered
Revisado: 04-12-17
What could have made this a 4 or 5-star listening experience for you?
Nothing. Long winded never getting the point story narrated by the author and he does a terrible job. Most talking about himself and his amazing education and ego doctor crap.
So slow it's painful... I could barley get through an hour, a complete waste of time. Should of been a couple hours max... but 6 hours.. are you kidding me???? Terrible.
Has Proof of Heaven turned you off from other books in this genre?
No.. this one is just bad.... I have liked others. Needs to get to the point and keep us there much quicker. You feel like he's finally going to tell us something and then skips all over the place. Terrible writing. The author should never narrate his book. He sounds so boring and unprofessional. It's just a very painful listen. I just had to stop listening so it's very possible I missed something profound. I even kept fast forwarding hoping to get to something interesting. Not well done at all. I'm sure he meant well, we want to hear of your wonderful experience. I'm sure it's there. This books needs a re-wirte and better narrator. But doctors are so full of themselves... that won't happen.
What didn’t you like about Eben Alexander’s performance?
Absolutely nothing. He should hire a true professional narrator
You didn’t love this book... but did it have any redeeming qualities?
The actual experience if he would just stay there sounds wonderful
Any additional comments?
Wish I never paid for this book
