The book makes useful analogies to bring concepts to light. This book is great for anyone new to accounting and is a good go to reminder of the core accounting concepts for anybody in the accounting field.

This books explains the adjusting entry process in a very detailed way. The book does a good job defining what adjusting entries are, and then explains how we can approach any adjusting entry in a systematic way.
The thought process for recording adjusting entries is very helpful and can save a lot of time and frustration when learning this accounting topic. The book goes over each of the main adjusting entries and records them using a step by step thought process.
The can seem repetitive as we apply the same thought process to each adjusting entry, but the repetition is what helps certify the concepts in a practical way.

The closing process is very important to understand because it helps us understand the relationship between the income statement and balance sheet and how accounts function over time.
The book approaches the closing process from three perspectives, explaining the pros and cons of each approach.
The book also includes a PDF file to provide visual aids of the process.

Although it is possible to read financial statements without a full understanding of how they are constructed, and it is possible to work in an accounting department performing accounting tasks including data entry, without fully understanding debits and credits, it is not possible to have a complete understanding of the financial statements or financial accounting without an understanding of transactions recorded using debits and credits.
