What on earth?
Revisado: 02-13-25
I am a Spurs fan. I am horrified by this. Just a few minutes into the book the author calls Manu Ginobili, one of the greatest international players, one third of the winningest NBA big three ever, a member of the only Olympic basketball team to beat an NBA led team, a cowardly flopper? This book is bogus! The reader is terrible too. Research how to pronounce properly! Waste of money!

Historia
It’s 1984, and life has changed beyond recognition. Airstrip One, formerly known as Great Britain, is a place where Big Brother is always watching, and nobody can hide. Except, perhaps, for Winston Smith. Whilst working at the Ministry of Truth, rewriting history, he secretly dreams of freedom. And in a world where love and sex are forbidden, where it’s hard to distinguish between friend and foe, he meets Julia and O’Brien and vows to rebel.

Fantastic
Revisado: 10-11-24
Scott was absolutely vile and repulsive. Garfield’s transition was sincere and very believable. You could instantly fall in love with Erivo. Hardy was omnipresent. It felt like he was watching over my shoulder. Fantastic all the way through.

Historia
Alex Gladstein has a lot to say about Bitcoin, human rights, financial privilege, and personal freedom. In Check Your Financial Privilege, he says it, starting with the fact that anyone born into a reserve currency like the euro, yen, or pound has financial privilege over the 89 percent of the world population born into weaker systems. As CSO of the Human Rights Foundation, Gladstein is uniquely positioned to detail the rise of Bitcoin from cypherpunk dream to the real-life Bitcoin stories happening to real people across the globe.

Disrespectful reader
Revisado: 02-01-24
The reader, Swan, sounded disrespectful when he mimicked the voices of the interviewees. It sounded like he was mocking them. He should have also taken the time to learn how to pronounce the names in the book. The book was already rich and interesting. There was no need for the poorly executed verbal antics.

Historia
Growing up in a tough Washington, D.C., neighborhood, Chris Wilson was so afraid for his life he wouldn't leave the house without a gun. One night, defending himself, he killed a man. At 18, he was sentenced to life in prison with no hope of parole. But what should have been the end of his story became the beginning. Deciding to make something of his life, Chris embarked on a journey of self-improvement - reading, working out, learning languages, even starting a business. He wrote his Master Plan: a list of all he expected to accomplish or acquire.

Beautiful
Revisado: 10-26-23
We all have our prisons. We all have our caves. This story is a beautiful tale of personal growth and success. More importantly, it is a tale of a man who chose to dedicate his life to helping others achieve the same. Congratulations to the author. You are an inspiration.

Better in book form
Revisado: 02-02-23
The first part was quite entertaining, but Dalio was right. His book is better as a reference. Buy the print version and use it like an encyclopedia!

Historia
Billionaire investors. If we think of them, it’s with a mixture of awe and suspicion. Clearly, they possess a kind of genius - the proverbial Midas Touch. But are the skills they possess transferable? And do they have anything to teach us besides making money? In Richer, Wiser, Happier, William Green draws on interviews that he’s conducted over 25 years with many of the world’s greatest investors. As he discovered, their talents extend well beyond the financial realm.

The most human book on investing that I have read. A worthwhile education for sure.
