Historia
To this day, the LAPD, Los Angeles District Attorney’s office, mainstream media, and much of the world at large remain firmly convinced that O. J. Simpson literally got away with murder. According to private investigator William Dear, it is precisely this assuredness that has led both the police and public to overlook a far more likely suspect. Dear now compiles more than 16 years of investigation by his team of forensic experts and presents evidence that O. J. was not the killer.

Not the worst theory I've ever heard.

Not a bad theory but boy is this guy full of himself. Half of the book is him patting himself on the back. Did he even have an editor??

Good theory, terrible execution
Revisado: 08-19-23
Like others have said, I really wanted to like this book but I just can't. The theory is good and I think the author is on to something but it is HORRIBLY narrated. It was so hard to stay engaged with the story because it felt like a boring college lecture. This is how the kids at Hogwarts must have felt in Professors Binns' History of Magic class.

Historia
Grace Reinhart Sachs is living the only life she ever wanted for herself. Devoted to her husband, a pediatric oncologist at a major cancer hospital, their young son Henry, and the patients she sees in her therapy practice, her days are full of familiar things: She lives in the very New York apartment in which she was raised, and sends Henry to the school she herself once attended. Dismayed by the ways in which women delude themselves, Grace is also the author of a book You Should Have Known, in which she cautions women to really hear what men are trying to tell them.

Very different from the series
Revisado: 01-31-21
If you're here to read this after watching the series, like me, the first thing I want to let you know is that they differ in many ways. The series was fast paced and a whodunit but the book is more like a Hallmark movie. That's not a bad thing at all, it's just deeper look at Grace's every day life, which is what we love books for anyway! :)
Definitely check this book out!

Historia
When it comes to the “hard seasons” of life—the death of a loved one, divorce, loss of a job—transformation seems impossible when grief and uncertainty dominate your days. Especially when, as Didn’t See that Coming reveals, no one asks to have their future completely rearranged for them. But, as Rachel Hollis writes, it is up to you how you come through your pain—you can come through changed for the better, having learned and grown, or stuck in place where your identity becomes rooted in what hurt you.

Historia
Jonathan Drazen’s my billionaire boss. Or he was, until he fired me. Now he wants to make a bet. If I win, he’ll give me enough money to not care about this waitressing job. If he wins, I’m completely and utterly his for the night. Since a bad breakup, I’ve sworn off men, but I’ll take this wager. He’s hot enough to break some rules over. Besides, he’s still hung up on his ex-wife. There’s no chance he’ll want more after the sun comes up. Just one night, and I walk away from his dark past and his hot demands.

I want everyone I know to listen to this book. It is biting commentary that more people agree with than they are willing to say and that's unfortunate. Which is what makes it so necessary. A must listen.

Historia
For his victims, for their families and for the investigators tasked with finding him, the senselessness and brutality of the Golden State Killer's acts were matched only by the powerlessness they felt at failing to uncover his identity. Then, on April 24, 2018, authorities arrested 72-year-old Joseph James DeAngelo at his home in Citrus Heights, Calif., based on DNA evidence linked to the crimes. Amazingly, it seemed, evil finally had a name. Please note: This work contains descriptions of violent crime and sexual assault and may not be suitable for all listeners.

Revisado: 05-07-18
If you are a fan of the true crime genre, you probably already know this story from the headlines lately. It is still worth the read. Michelle methodically researched this relentlessly and wrote the definitive book on it, even though she didn't get to finish it.
Read the headlines, skim the articles etc but get your info from this book and give Michelle ALL the credit for his capture!

Historia
Guy Montag is a fireman. In his world, where television rules and literature is on the brink of extinction, firemen start fires rather than put them out. His job is to destroy the most illegal of commodities, the printed book, along with the houses in which they are hidden. Montag never questions the destruction and ruin his actions produce, returning each day to his bland life and wife, Mildred, who spends all day with her television "family."

Always a classic but I don't like this telling.
Revisado: 04-29-18
this book will always hold up and be relevant. It's a great book and you pick up little things every single time you read it or listen to it. But I found the narration on this particular version very distracting and hard to follow. The voices back and forth did more to disrupt the story and the flow of the narrative than it did to separate out the people who are actually talking.
Tim Robbins is a great actor and has spoken out on many issues that are relevant to this books but I don't feel that he was the best choice to narrate it. They should have rain them in a little bit more and not lost some of the story and the impact it has. The concept of the book and the events of the story are too simple and compact to have such a broad, sweeping, exciting narrator.
