I've loved every volume of Goblin Slayer. I prefer the light novel over the anime. Apparently this novel is the Goblin Slayer movie that got released a couple years ago. I definitely prefer the book over the movie.

horrifying but necessary read

I read a lot of World War II books, but a lot of them focus on America and their involvement. This is one of the first I've read that mainly focuses on the Russian army and the German army. It's a true eye-opening read and it does not pull back any punches.

Side stories that show how one person can change the lives of many.

While this is essentially side stories of other characters, one common trait they all have is that they know Goblin Slayer, they have talked to him, and he has either inspired them or gave them advice that helped them later on. What I like is that it's kind of a ripple effect of the Goblin Slayer's character where he's more open to helping people and doing more than just goblins slaying while still focusing on his main mission of killing goblins. It's showing growth. It's pretty cool. The only real downside I have has to do with the author and their particular need to explain everyone chest sizes and how they thrust. It gets tiring having to hear it over and over again.

I started playing the game and saw that there was a prequel book. So I picked it up and I really enjoyed it. It really sets up the plot of the game. I also enjoyed the fact that they put in more reasons why the xenomorphs have different abilities.

I am a huge fan of the anime and so when I saw this audiobook I snatched it right away and I'm glad I did. Even if you haven't seen the anime, I would still highly recommend it. The story is great. The time period is great. Pretty unique in a way from other light novels.

JR definitely knows how to tell some good stories and I definitely enjoyed all of these stories. One thing that really that I took from all this is he has someone who throughout all his loss and pain really loves the business And is willing to do anything to stay in it.

intriguing history about vaping

Never vaped myself. So learning more about vaping and the whole controversy around flavored pods was pretty intriguing. I will say it's disappointing about how the show has no accountability for the parents. Like the one mother who sues other companies magically finding out from her son about vaping and then wants to go ahead and sue. That story doesn't fly with me. Also the father who's a smoker buying a vape for their kid. Come on. That's like buying non-alcoholic beer for your kid, because you drink. That doesn't make any sense. You know that that's a slippery slope, but whatever. No accountability, right? Kids are already messed up. Parents who smoke already know what nicotine does to them, but hey, let's buy our kids this stuff. Then act surprise when they go down that slippery slope and now their nicotine heavy and their depression is higher and they're more irritable and everything that they experience when they smoke, so lets sue the company and not our bad decisions as parents.

Finally, getting some traction and a love life with a main character

It's a good audiobook. I really do enjoy this series. It's just laid back, mild risks, good characters, and finally the start of her realizing her feelings for the captain.
