Historia
Shy but with a steely self-confidence; inscrutable despite ten decades in the public eye; unflappable; devout; indulgent; outwardly reserved, inwardly passionate; unsentimental; inquisitive; young at heart. All of these describe Her Royal Highness Queen Elizabeth II, who has reigned through more seismic social change than any monarch since 1066. Robert Hardman has already examined the Queen as a modern monarch and her role as a stateswoman abroad. Now, he wraps up the full story of one of the undisputed greats in a thousand years of monarchy.

A respectfully written biography of the Queen.
Revisado: 06-17-22
I enjoyed reading all of Robert Hardman’s books on Queen Elizabeth II. I was sad when I came to the end of Queen for our Times. The book kept my attention from start to finish. I like the way Hardman writes respectfully and fairly about the Queen and the Royal family. I like the fact that Robert Hardman narrated this book… his voice added much to my enjoyment of the book. Historia
On today's world stage, there is one leader who stands apart from the rest. Queen Elizabeth II has seen more of the planet and its people than any other head of state and has engaged with the world like no other monarch in modern history. The iconic monarch never ventured further than the Isle of Wight until the age of 20 but since then has now visited over 130 countries across the globe in the line of duty, acting as diplomat, hostess, and dignitary as the world stage has changed beyond recognition.

I already greatly admired and respected the Queen. Reading this book elevated my admiration and respect for Her Majesty.
The audible narration by the author was a bonus. I have recommended the book to friends. I have read it twice myself.

Historia
The remarkable story of The Queen, as she approaches her Diamond Jubilee as the leader of the Monarchy..Throughout history, there has been no Monarch like her. She is not merely the oldest Sovereign this country has ever known. She is the most worldly. She has travelled further than all her predecessors put together. She has met more historic figures than anyone alive - from Churchill to Mandela, de Gaulle, Reagan and Obama. And today, Queen Elizabeth II is no more contemplating retirement than she was when she came to the throne in 1952.

Historia
In 10 lectures, award-winning historian Patrick N. Allitt transports listeners to England in the 1840s and 1850s. During those two decades, Queen Victoria's husband, Prince Albert, became one of the most influential people in the country and remains a figure of fascination even today. In fact, the British royal family as we know it wouldn't exist without the private and public actions of this detached, impartial, and upright political figure.

One of my favorite Audible books so far. Patrick Allitt is a very engaging writer. I was drawn into the story of Prince Albert. Alliitt’s narration was very appealing. I throughly enjoyed the book.
