Historia
Follow the Science recounts, in exacting detail, how far the pharmaceutical industry and its supporters in medicine, media, and government will go to protect their profits. Attkisson provides shocking examples that reveal the disturbing callousness our government, public health officials, and top researchers are capable of when it comes to the most vulnerable among us. And she explains, in a graphic sense, how some of the most trusted within our society are willing to commit life-threatening ethics violations.

This book should be called the truth about Pharma!
Revisado: 09-03-24
I initially thought this book would be full of information about what happened during Covid, and I was pleasantly surprised to learn about the pharmaceutical industry and its connections to media.
The sources cited in the audiobook are accurate, and after researching them online, I became aware of how little Americans know about the severely limited government oversight in the Pharma and marketing industry.
I found the Audible recording to be very well done, and Sharyl's voice sounds great.
I'm amazed at the extensive research she put into this book, and I listened to the whole thing in one sitting.
I suggest that anyone who wants to know more about health and how we are heavily influenced by media and the pharmaceutical industry in such a covert manner would do themselves a favor by reading this book.

Historia
Today we think statistics are the enemy, numbers used to mislead and confuse us. That’s a mistake, Tim Harford says in The Data Detective. We shouldn’t be suspicious of statistics - we need to understand what they mean and how they can improve our lives: they are, at heart, human behavior seen through the prism of numbers and are often “the only way of grasping much of what is going on around us”.

How come its full of politics - full of biased information and stealing other data experts ideas
Revisado: 06-11-24
Tim Talks about Donald Trump throughout the book and also clearly biased and doesn’t have much to offer in the book. It’s filled with stories and his opinion that has no data sources to help his anecdotal stories. He is careful not to use data in his own book. Also after studying the book I am not more near to being a data detective because there aren’t really formatted in lessons. The title says one thing and does another. I did learn though that the title of the book should be suspect. Feedback to the author- maybe focus on objective writing instead of political bias poorly masked as a lesson.

Historia
As Douglas Adams points out, if there is no final answer to the question "what is the meaning of life?" 42 is as good or bad an answer as any other. Indeed, 42 quotes might be even better! Gary Cox guides us through 42 of the most misunderstood, misquoted, provocative, and significant quotes in the history of philosophy, providing witty and compelling commentary along the way.

Historia
The world's greatest problem-solvers, forecasters, and decision-makers all rely on a set of frameworks and shortcuts that help them cut through complexity and separate good ideas from bad ones. They're called mental models, and you can find them in dense textbooks on psychology, physics, economics, and more. Or, you can just listen to Super Thinking, a fun, illustrated guide to every mental model you could possibly need.

I learned an incredible amount of actionables in the first hour. This book is worth 100 times more to me than what I paid for it. Great work on the audiobook!
