Filled with love & wonderful memories
Revisado: 07-16-22
I wasn’t sure what to expect because I bought this the day it was released but didn’t read it until now 2 years later. Jenna tells an amazing story of the love her family shares and how impactful her family bonds have been in creating love for her young family and the caring environment she creates for those around her and for us viewers.
It was very satisfying and I felt that strong family bond while listening.

The Side Hustle is for people who want or need to earn some extra money outside of their day jobs. That’s how I got started down this entrepreneurial path, and it’s the best choice I ever made. You’re willing to work for it because your future is worth working for. But your time is limited, and you may not know where to start. There are a million and one ways to “make money online”, and everyone wants to sell you their “proven system for internet riches”. It’s hard to tell what’s a scam and what’s legit.

The Motivation I Needed
Revisado: 06-18-22
I really like Nick’s podcast and found this book to be a detailed extension of the podcast.
There are so many ideas for side hustles that I was able to find several workable options.
My only request is that he include a download of the book because I don’t have a list of the resources he mentions, however it’s a great resource for newbies like me.

Historia
Ryland Grace is the sole survivor on a desperate, last-chance mission - and if he fails, humanity and the Earth itself will perish. Except that right now, he doesn't know that. He can't even remember his own name, let alone the nature of his assignment or how to complete it. All he knows is that he's been asleep for a very, very long time. And he's just been awakened to find himself millions of miles from home, with nothing but two corpses for company.

The Best
Revisado: 05-31-22
I don’t read science fiction but I purchased this book because of reviews & due to seeing The Martian.
This story & production are incredible. The narrator made this production so meaningful. The story, the characters, the science, the deeper themes of global warming, international (planetary) cooperation & what makes a community create an experience beyond listening to a novel.
This production will stay with me and motivate me to take action.
It’s wonderful beyond words.

Historia
Gracie Reed is doing just fine. Sure, she was fired by her overly “friendly” boss, and yes, she still hasn’t gotten her mother into the nursing home of their dreams, but she’s healthy, she’s (somewhat) happy, and she’s (mostly) holding it all together. But when a mysterious SUV pulls up beside her, revealing Chinese cinema's golden couple Wei Fangli and Sam Yao, Gracie’s world is turned on its head. The famous actress has a proposition: Due to their uncanny resemblance, Fangli wants Gracie to be her stand-in.

No time to right a long review but want to tell those “boy meets girl” readers that this isn’t a typical love story. It wraps up in an unexpected way but amazing way.
Having the wonderful Ms. Soo as the narrator made it even better!

Another Beauty
Revisado: 06-21-21
I started listening to this and thought Backman had started losing his touch but I stayed without because of my love for Bear Town and the follow-ups.
This also gave me shivers but in a new way. I won't go into the plot but it is a story about empathy and connection.
It is wonderful.

Historia
Duchess Day Radley is a 13-year-old self-proclaimed outlaw. Rules are for other people. She is the fierce protector of her five-year-old brother, Robin, and the parent to her mother, Star, a single mom incapable of taking care of herself, let alone her two kids. Walk has never left the coastal California town where he and Star grew up. He may have become the chief of police, but he’s still trying to heal the old wound of having given the testimony that sent his best friend, Vincent King, to prison decades before. And he's in overdrive protecting Duchess and her brother.

Historia
Before there was "tourism" and souvenir ashtrays became "kitsch", the Lake of the Ozarks was a Shangri-La for middle-class Midwestern families on vacation, complete with man-made beaches, Hillbilly Mini Golf, and feathered rubber tomahawks. It was there that author Bill Geist spent summers in the '60s during his school and college years working at Arrowhead Lodge - a small resort owned by his bombastic uncle - in all areas of the operation, from cesspool attendant to bellhop.

Loved the stories and hearing Bill and Willie talk at the end. I live in KC so have been to the "lake" many times. So fun to hear how it was in more innocent times.

Not what I expected but now a Tana French favorite
Revisado: 02-04-21
I read everything Tana writes (to the best of my knowledge) and get caught up in her plot twist & characters.
This one struck me as odd & out of her norm but after several chapters I was hooked.
Without giving details I will say that this became one of my favorites and I love them all. Tana has a gift of developing characters that I feel I know. And once again, after finishing this book I missed them.
