STRUGGLED TO FINISH....AND COULDN'T DO IT SMH

I've listened to a number of audiobooks that, though the storyline may have left much to be desired, I was still able to get through it because the narrator still managed to bring the author's words to life. THIS is NOT one of those times.

I wasn't aware that the narrator was Caucasian, and at the end of the day, it doesn't matter to me, UNLESS the narrator is unable to BECOME those characters that they're portraying, such as the case here. The mispronounced slang and her overly dry monotone drove me nuts and the fact that she has no idea who rapper/actor XZibit is, made painfully evident when she incorrectly pronounced his name, was cringe worthy.

I made it to chapter 9, and even THAT was a feat that I should be paid for lol. Since this was a purchase made under my Romance Package deal, I can (and absolutely SHALL) return it for another book, so no love lost. However, it does leave me skeptical about giving this author another shot. As long as it's not this narrator again though, I just might....

FINALLY!!

It seemed like it took forever for this book to come out but the wait was SOOOOOO worth it! The twists and turns and secrets and whatnot kept my heart racing! And because all of the storylines have remained open-ended, I pray we don't have to wait long for Family Business 5!

LAWD THIS WAS A STRUGGLE!

I'm so glad this book is FINALLY over! This was the WORST narration EVER! I don't usually dog out the narrator, even when it IS horrible, but THIS sucked on every level imaginable! I only stuck with it because I'm fully vested in this series and I didn't want to move on to the next book without completing it. But I SWEAR if I had seen this chick's name as the narrator for the next book, I would've ended my journey RIGHT HERE! She needs to be properly trained in narration and acting. Either that or find another job. Because right now, THIS ain't for her!

LAAAAAAAAWD HA'MERCY!!! This whole series has had me clutching my pearls for these past 3 or 4 weeks since I started and finished! And NOW that a whole NEW WEB of secrets is about to begin, De'Nesha PLEEEEAAASE don't leave us hanging! An entirely new series has GOTSA be on the way and SOON!!!!

This book was off the chain GOOOOOOD!! I've scrolled past this book, and all of them in the series actually, so many times because I really didn't think I'd get into it. Well shame on me for judging a book by its cover (pun intended lol.) I started this book Monday to get me through my work day and I finished it today and after listening to the sneak peak of book 2 I can't even wait the week til my credits kick in to get it....I'm about to cop it right now!

Oh and Honey Jones, sista gurl you DID DAT with the narration! You couldn't tell me that wasn't a full cast of individual characters the way you perfectly switched it up and made everyone from LaShelle(sp) to YoYo to Fat Ace to Baby Thug come to life!

Well done De'Nesha Diamond! I am now a fan!

VERY PLEASANTLY SURPRISED!!

I must say that I truly enjoyed this book from start to finish! The only side I've ever seen of Evelyn is during her Basketball Wives run. I actually listened to the sample 3 times before I committed to purchasing it. Right now, I'm completely pissed that the book is over and I need to know what's up with Part 2! Eve and Chase's relationship still hangs in the balance; what's going to become of Shawn and Amber now that we know the truth about their daughter's paternity; what about the Kali, Carmen, Peter(?) and Jackie love debacle; is Jackie ever going to be put on blast? And something in me believes that Jai's marriage isn't as picture perfect as she has everyone believing. SEE??! TOO MANY unanswered questions and that's just the TIP of the iceberg lol! Bring on part 2 PLEASE!! Oh and Nicole Small's performance?? FAN FREAKING TASTIC!! From her acting, her ability to switch back and forth between the voices and accents, and even the background sound effects....absolutely EXCELLENT!

Ms. Morrison's narration was so melodically engaging. I could listen to her all day! Brava! And this story of not quite knowing how to come to grips with the YOU that you are is one that we all can relate to.
