Least enjoyable book so far

This book is incredibly slow, feels contrived, uninteresting characters and we hardly get any Randidly. The new characters don’t seem to add much to the overall story. And some of the writing is becoming hokey fortune cookie prose. I’ve loved this series up until now.

Fun different take on prog fantasy

I liked the story and character. I look forward to additional titles in the series. In terms of the performance, the narrator is talented, but I don’t love actual shouting in my ear.

Could have used some editing

I’m torn with this book because there is some really good writing in here, but in terms of the story, it fails to meet its potential. Still, this reads like if King knew how to write genuine and relatable characters. The big twist feels like deus ex machina and immediately took me out of the story. Also, this is significantly too long.

The narration is amazing and the reader is able to give such life to these characters. Among the best I’ve heard.

Final conclusion, if you like King, have lots of time on your hands and can overlook some lazy plot devices, there is some excellent writing in here at times.

I love horror, but in King’s world, the most horrific, monstrous thing is an overweight woman. It gets boring.

It was so nice returning to this world and these characters. I loved the expansion of the storylines and the addition of new stories from side characters. I hope we get more.

Probably the weakest book so far

In preparation for the release of this book, I re-listened to the previous books in the series. It was very obvious that the MCs are basically morphing into the same character. I hope things become more interesting in future books.

Really nose-dived in the third act

Started out genuinely scary, among the most unsettling stories I’ve read. Unfortunately things quickly became silly and the characters became one dimensional acting only to quickly move the story to conclusion. I’ll definitely check out this author’s other books though.

Worst of the three so far

This story has completely devolved into saccharine YA territory. All the female main characters are nagging housewives and the main love interest sounds like the geico gecko. Also, Freud would have a field day with the author’s intense fixation on scrotums.
