Historia
Detective Lincoln Rhyme, the foremost criminalist in the NYPD, is on the hunt for an elusive murderer, the Coffin Dancer. He's a brilliant hitman who changes his appearance even faster than he adds to his trail of victims, only one of whom has lived long enough to offer a clue: The assassin has an eerie tattoo on his arm of the Grim Reaper waltzing with a woman in front of a casket.

Biased opinion

I’ve read this series several times, so nice to gather them on audio. Some of it hasn’t aged well, but not as bad as Twain hasn’t aged.

Delightful

Any additional comments?
John Lithgow plays a great creepy bad guy once again. Mike Pence is an actual creepy bad guy. He doesn't deserve a bunny.

Lincoln Rhyme was once a brilliant criminologist, a genius in the field of forensics - until an accident left him physically and emotionally shattered. But now a diabolical killer is challenging Rhyme to a terrifying and ingenious duel of wits. With police detective Amelia Sachs by his side, Rhyme must follow a labyrinth of clues that reaches back to a dark chapter in New York City’s past - and reach further into the darkness of the mind of a madman who won’t stop until he has stripped life down to the bone.

Lincoln Rhyme is a robot
Revisado: 01-04-16
How did the narrator detract from the book?
Lincoln Rhyme was a robot, Amelia Sacs was a Disney Princess on helium and most of the book came off like a grocery list. I've read this series before and really wanted to hear it again, but wow. That was really hard to get into when the narrator obviously hates the characters.
Any additional comments?
Can't we get some unabridged versions of the whole series? I shall be forced to actually read the next book, something I don't have time to do, thus audiobooks....

Historia
Former Broadway dancer and current agoraphobic Billy Shine has not set foot outside his apartment in almost a decade. He has glimpsed his neighbors--beautiful manicurist Rayleen, lonely old Ms. Hinman, bigoted and angry Mr. Lafferty, kind-hearted Felipe, and nine-year-old Grace and her former addict mother, Eileen. But most of them have never seen Billy. Not until Grace begins to sit outside on the building's front stoop for hours every day, inches from Billy's patio.

Not my cup of tea
Revisado: 11-02-15
Any additional comments?
I found the tone rather nice but the story and the characters were unbelievable cliche and nondimensional. I guess just not my kind of book. I had wanted something light for a change and I definitely got it.

Historia
Two men, each handsome and unusually adept at his chosen work, embodied an element of the great dynamic that characterized America’s rush toward the twentieth century. The architect was Daniel Hudson Burnham, the fair’s brilliant director of works and the builder of many of the country’s most important structures, including the Flatiron Building in New York and Union Station in Washington, D.C. The murderer was Henry H. Holmes, a young doctor who, in a malign parody of the White City, built his “World’s Fair Hotel” just west of the fairgrounds.

Surprised by what I liked about this book.

Any additional comments?
I had wanted to learn more about Holmes, though there really wasn't anything new in this book that I hadn't seen in various documentaries. I was very surprised that I enjoyed the progression and development of the fair itself so much, even though I had a hard time separating or caring to separate any of the persons involved. The story was very well researched and didn't feel at all contrived. I shall be experimenting more with this writer.

Would you recommend this audiobook to a friend? If so, why?
Yes. Absolutely captivating.
Any additional comments?
I rushed to listen to this one in preparation of seeing the movie with friends. I hung on every word. It drove me a little crazy, but in a good way, trying to link the mysteries with real Doyle characters. The movie had a different ending, but I forgave them as it was less heartbreaking their way.

Historia
In December 1667, maverick physician Jean Denis transfused calf’s blood into one of Paris’s most notorious madmen. Days later, the madman was dead and Denis was framed for murder. A riveting expos of the fierce debates, deadly politics, and cutthroat rivalries behind the first transfusion experiments, Blood Work takes us from dissection rooms in palaces to the streets of Paris, providing an unforgettable portrait of an era that wrestled with the same questions about morality and experimentation that haunt medical science today.

I lost interest in the middle of the book, but it starts out great and ends well. It gets a bit muddled in the middle with more facts than storytelling. Still a great nonfiction work.
