Historia
In 1866, with the country barely recovered from the Civil War, new war breaks out on the western frontier - a clash of cultures between a young, ambitious nation and the Native tribes who have lived on the land for centuries. Colonel Henry Carrington arrives in Wyoming’s Powder River Valley to lead the US Army in defending the opening of a new road for gold miners and settlers. Carrington intends to build a fort in the middle of critical hunting grounds, the home of the Lakota.

Heralded as an instant classic of fantasy literature, Maguire has written a wonderfully imaginative retelling of The Wizard of Oz told from the Wicked Witch's point of view. More than just a fairy tale for adults, Wicked is a meditation on the nature of good and evil.

That’s it?
Revisado: 12-15-24
Honestly a very disappointing read. I thought it started off strong but it really can’t stick the landing. Without giving away spoilers, it starts too many themes that it doesn’t follow through with. My biggest frustrations are with the Dorothy parts of the story. It really felt like the writing was tired out at that point, following plot lines because it had to.

Revisado: 06-08-24
Honestly the way this book was assembled was incredibly genius. Much like Fury Road itself, it’s impressive that it came together. Buchanan really made something wholly original in a making of an incredibly original movie. Great job!

The Perfect Presentation
Revisado: 02-05-23
I love old Hollywood. I love history. I hate fascist. I hate jingoism. I loved Mara’s ability to expose the different facets of racism in America through the lives of the characters he creates. Beautifully constructed novel that all comes together in the end.

Historia
Paul Bäumer is just 19 years old when he and his classmates enlist. They are Germany’s Iron Youth who enter the war with high ideals and leave it disillusioned or dead. As Paul struggles with the realities of the man he has become, and the world to which he must return, he is led like a ghost of his former self into the war’s final hours. All Quiet is one of the greatest war novels of all time, an eloquent expression of the futility, hopelessness and irreparable losses of war.

Read this book!
Revisado: 09-04-16
Often in film and books war is glorified. It is made to seem like it is about honor and dignity. Not so in All Quite on the Western Front. This book soberly gives a point of view that is often overlooked when considering the gravity of war and the pain it brings those who fight it. I really enjoyed the book and the narration. I did feel that the recording quality of the readers voice was slightly lacking though.

Revealing Reagan
Revisado: 09-28-15
This was a much different book than the duos other "killing" books. For one *spoiler alert* Reagan didn't die while being a political figure like the others in the series. The other difference was it was a very straight forward narrative of Reagan's life vs the magnifying glass placed up against the events surrounding the persons assassination. I should note that I have yet to read Killing Patton so I can't say if this is totally different than the others or if it is part of a gradual slide from the others in the series. My one semi negative point would be O'reilly didn't narrate this book. I really enjoy his narrations, however the narrator of this book does do a fantastic job.

On a warm summer morning in North Carthage, Missouri, it is Nick and Amy Dunne’s fifth wedding anniversary. Presents are being wrapped and reservations are being made when Nick’s clever and beautiful wife disappears. Husband-of-the-Year Nick isn’t doing himself any favors with cringe-worthy daydreams about the slope and shape of his wife’s head, but passages from Amy's diary reveal the alpha-girl perfectionist could have put anyone dangerously on edge.

Amazing book... Okay narration.
Revisado: 09-07-15
The book was really intriguing and had a lot of twists and turns but I felt that when the male/ female narrators imitated each other's voice it gave me the wrong impression of that character. A theme of the book was misrepresentation of character though so maybe it was on purpose?

You NEED this book
Revisado: 01-26-14
Would you consider the audio edition of Killing Jesus to be better than the print version?
I've never read the print version of this book but i cant imagine having it read any other way. The story is written in a narrative that really sets the scene for what was going on at the time of Jesus. Its super awesome that the book is narrated by the author. It makes it some how more personal that way
Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?
This was definitely a book that i wanted to read in one sitting (and tried!) Its such a fascinating subject and if you've read the gospels it makes it even more fascinating.
Any additional comments?
Read it! If you want to learn more about the history surrounding Jesus' life then you need this book. Even if you don't believe in Jesus it gives you more appreciation for what he was teaching and how radical it was for him to say what he did.

Amazing production, terrible navigation.
Revisado: 01-26-14
What did you like best about The Word of Promise Complete Audio Bible: NKJV? What did you like least?
I love the multi-voice approach! It adds so much to each biblical character making each come alive in their own unique way. I hate how you cant find any 1 particular book of the bible or if you've forgotten which book your in you cant look it up with any ease.
What did you like best about this story?
Well its the bible so its amazing! But the best part it brings the books to life and you can view it as a story and a teaching.
Any additional comments?
The greatest book ever written with the greatest performance, whats not to love?
