I began listening to this just after Reynolds' death. He must have been about 78 or 79 years-old when he recorded the audiobook and his voice was a little weak and quiet. I had to listen to it with the volume all the way up (I alternated between listening on an Echo Dot and a Kindle Fire) and at 1.15 speed to improve the quality. It was both painful and poignant as he teared up several times throughout the reading. He told his life story through the people that he met along the way and it gave him the opportunity to pay tribute to those he loved and to call the others sons of bitches as needed. Unlike Rex Harrison in his autobiography, Burt didn't ruin any of his films for me. He also was never particularly mean-spirited, even about ex-wife, Loni Anderson. Basically, he was exactly who I thought he was all the way to the end.

What made the experience of listening to Santa & Pete the most enjoyable?

Delroy Lindo does a wonderful job expressing the warmth and depth of feeling in this unique and original story.

Would you listen to A Christmas Carol: A Signature Performance by Tim Curry again? Why?

I will listen to this every Christmas from now on! It is a wonderful performance that pulls together the dozen or so movie versions I have seen over the years. And it's a great accompaniment for travel to Christmas parties and family gatherings!

Who was your favorite character and why?

Tim Curry does a wonderful job breathing life into and giving unique voice to each and every character in the story but, of course, Scrooge is the star!

What does Tim Curry bring to the story that you wouldn’t experience if you just read the book?

This is truly a performance rather than a straight narration. His presentation really brings the book to life.
