This book is a great start to the world that is setup.
I was legitimately left wanting more where this book left off. Like playing a game demo that is just getting good and comes to a too soon end. This story has tons of world building, and lore it’s hard to imagine someone not getting exited for the next release.

This book is what KOTOR III outline should have been, but resulting in the “dark side ending”. Then TOR would have been a fever dream where Revan wasn’t done dirty.

This is an excellent book, I would still recommend it.

The exciting sequel to the effervescent Will Save Galaxy for Food, returns with an exciting cast of characters and the unnamed protagonist ever tormented by fate. This is a excellent entry in what I hope is a long running series. If you’ve played Space Quest this is definitely up your alley.

Seriously, stop reading this review and pick this and the first book up.

Ben Croshaw’s performance is excellent and the story plays out in excellent manner.

Great story, a little too much focus on power levels. A git more grunting and this could have easily become Dragonball Z fan fic.

Ultimate it’s a great read, and I would recommend it. Michael Kramer and Kate Reading give a top notch performance!

This sort of feels like a cosmere novella. Maybe?

Good heavens this story is all over the place.
After having heard this story I would assume that Mr. Correia ripped a bong load of angle dust, downed a point of magic mushrooms, popped in season 2 of quantum leap and got to work writing, but having seen some of his interviews it turns out he isn’t that kind of guy. So I assume caffeine and a runaway imagination fuel his writing prowess, and possible lack of sleep, but that is more speculation.

Either way, the insane premise and the story pacing are excellent, the social commentary and the jabs at insane progressives and doomed zoomer generation are excellently placed. Adam Baldwin makes a great performance of the materials.

My only complaint is that the story is too short.

Finn J.D. John’s compilation of these stories and bits of H.P. Lovecraft’s life are excellent. Really helps to get a better idea of the man who wrote the stories or where he was physically and mentally at the time, I really will get the physical copies of these. The narration performance is awful. EVERY story is read with a lilting mysticism like the undertakers manager from the WWF. I picked up the John Carter of Mars omnibus he did, excellent execution... well okay execution (insert gif of Rabbi Tuck gesturing at the merry men) These two audiobooks though.... no thanks.

After having gone this far, every time I hit play, I swear I can imagine the narrator dressed like a fortune telling putting on a show for the next sucker.

Would you say that listening to this book was time well-spent? Why or why not?

yes it was. it was a very good read\listen

What did you like best about this story?

what you thought was going to happen to Dalanar, didn't

Which scene was your favorite?

Kaladin's show down with Amaram.

Could you see Oathbringer being made into a movie or a TV series? Who should the stars be?

could it be adapted? probably. though as book three in the series it would make more sense to start at book 1.

Any additional comments?

When I say that Brandon Sanderson "Sanderson's" a book, you have to be familiar with his past work. Warbreaker and Elantris are the best examples of "Sandersoning". basically you get a LOT of world building. LOTS. then when you come to the climax, its a neck break pace to the end but LOTS of fantastic and awesome things happen in that bit. Oath Bringer is Brandon Sanderson's most egregious example of this. The story is fantastic, has to be my favorite of the Stormlight archives. But oh my various gods does he Sanderson the ever loving stuffing out of this book. I thought his pacing was hammered out during the second generation of the Mistborne series, but he must have regressed a bit. again, fantastic book, the audio performance was top notch. its a slow burn, then BOOM! it all comes together and is super awesome.
