Historia
Young, brazen, beautiful, and unapologetically brilliant, Margaret Fuller accepts an invitation from Ralph Waldo Emerson, the celebrated Sage of Concord, to meet his coterie of enlightened friends. There she becomes “the radiant genius and fiery heart” of the Transcendentalists, a role model to a young Louisa May Alcott, an inspiration for Nathaniel Hawthorne’s Hester Prynne and the scandalous Scarlet Letter, a friend to Henry David Thoreau as he ventures out to Walden Pond . . . and a muse to Emerson. But Margaret craves more than poetry and interpersonal drama.

Intriguing life after death tale
Revisado: 01-16-25
It's just the sort of book I like... and very well done. The one thing I thought was odd is the lack of questions by Amber’s family about what it was like being dead. Otherwise a very intriguing read.

Lots of twists and turns!
Revisado: 12-07-24
as always, I enjoy Sarah Denzil's storytelling. She’s great with the plot twists and in creating engaging characters with back stories.. I enjoyed the book very much and would have given five stars except for the grammatical errors that irked me. Maybe it’s just an English professor thing, but when people get lie and lay wrong... It is bothersome and pulls me out of the story. This book needed better editors. but is still a good mystery that I do recommend

I had no idea where this story was taking me. It was wonderfully twisty and suspenseful.. lots of surprises lots of big puzzles... a few loose ends at the end that I wished had been tied up, but overall a very enjoyable and thrilling read

such an engrossing story...didn't want it to end...I love the historical detail and care that the author takes in her work. Great characters! I hope there's one more book to this series to give everyone the endings they deserve...!

Loved this novel from start to finish!
Revisado: 09-23-24
These characters are full of heart...quirky, multi-faceted, lovable. A riveting situation to start the story...unfolding minute by harrowing minute...and then the aftermath leading the reader on myriad journeys. Very suspenseful and fascinating, and at the same time both funny and profound. I laughed aloud and cried happy tears. What a ride! And what a satisfying ending!❤️

Historia
My darling little boy Albie adores playing at our new neighbours’ house. And after the terrible year we’ve had, I feel so lucky that we can start over in this perfect place, with new friends who treat Albie like the son they never had. He can’t stop talking about the tree house they’re building him, and the cookies they bake together. But as time passes, something starts to feel wrong. Why don’t they ever open the front door more than a crack? They told me they had no children so who does the small pink tricycle I saw in their hall belong to?

An intriguing and unsettling story
Revisado: 09-14-24
I was captured by this book and the weird situations unfolding... but I felt the ending fell a bit flat. So many weird situations, such a lot of tension building, and it all came together very quickly at the end-- too quickly for my liking. still worth listening to and a very twisty tale, but I felt everyone just sat there at the end explaining themselves, which is not traditional thriller story telling! I felt the book should have been longer, with the denoument coming about the main character's investigations, rather than having the ending wrapped up by people's confessions.

The teenagers get their kicks telling ghost stories in the old graveyard. The parents trust their kids will arrive home safe from school. Everyone knows everyone. Curtains rarely twitch. Front doors are left unlocked. But Diana Brewer isn’t lying safely in her bed where she belongs. Instead she lies in a hayfield, circled by vultures, discovered by a local farmer. How quickly a girl becomes a ghost. How quickly a town of friendly, familiar faces becomes a town of suspects, a place of fear and paranoia.

Historia
When the call came it seemed like the answer to my prayers. My career as a voice actor had been over for months and me and my little girl Scarlet were living back at my mum’s place. I felt like a failure professionally—and with Scarlet having problems at school, as a parent as well. So, when I was asked to narrate a new book by disappeared novelist Philippa Roberts I jumped at the chance, even if it meant leaving Scarlet with my ex, Hugo, for a few weeks. Hugo, with his perfect new home and his perfect new girlfriend Saskia. But this isn’t a dream come true. It’s a nightmare.
