Highly clever and unique with characters to love and a satisfying ending.

Though the story takes time to unfold, the interesting, endearing characters and the mystery kept me listening. The time it took to get invested made the ending all the more satisfying!

The Boy lives in a cottage with his mother and father, and the Dragon lives in a cave on the Downs. The Boy is his only friend. The Dragon is not at all the sort of Dragon one might expect to meet, however: he's polite and friendly.

The way it was read made the whole thing worth it

The story is a clever twist on what I think of as a typical dragon story and written just as cleverly. Mostly I wished for a little more of a memorable ending. But the way it was performed had me giggling aloud. Anton Lesser's delivery had me hanging on every word and made the whole experience well worth it.
