If you could sum up Bringing Up Bebe in three words, what would they be?

Freedom from assumptions
I have heard every terror story about having a child from almost everyone around me. It is nice to know that at least one Mom has succeded in beating the odds.

Who was your favorite character and why?

I admire the Mom, she decided that the assumed fate of mothers everywhere would not be hers, and proceeded to figure out the reasons and details. She makes it seem perfectly reasonable and doable to have a well-mannered child that "does her nights" (sleeps through the night) early, doesn’t throw food, likes to learn, try new things, help, has manners all while still having a sense of self and not "cowed" into submission.

Which scene was your favorite?

I couldn't say, I laughed through the whole thing. Only later did I realize how much I learned!

What’s an idea from the book that you will remember?

From the start the baby is its own self, don't rush to pick him/her up, watch them, and learn from your baby. They will tell you what they need. Wait to pick them up at night, they might be between dreams, watch & learn. Give them the responsibility and honor of BEING from day one. However at the same time as the age of reason sets in, they are as responsible for their actions as any adult. Again, watch learn and let them be a responsible member of society.

Would you recommend this audiobook to a friend? If so, why?

As always the book is better than the movie..So many more little details than the movie that explained so much! Hubby and I watched the movie first (both being archers) but in so many places in the movie we were left wondering what jump of logic to make. The book explained so much more.

What was one of the most memorable moments of The Hunger Games?

For me when Katniss befriends Rue is the most powerful in the book. Rue's backstory is told with such a magical quality that you are transported to work with Rue in District 11. Then your heart is torn and shredded with her death, and picked up again dusted off and somewhat repaired with Katniss' heartfelt ritual.

Have you listened to any of Carolyn McCormick’s other performances before? How does this one compare?

Only others in the same series, this is my favorite since Katniss seems the strongest and least desperate in this one.

What did you love best about Catching Fire?

"Hunger Games" left you wanting more, "Catching Fire" delivered. The same edge of your seat inspired writing, and depth of the characters as Hunger. It is a darker story and "Mockingjay" the third in the series is darker still.

Who was your favorite character and why?

Each character had their own flavor, and each is very realistic having flaws and attributes talents and areas of lack.

Which character – as performed by Carolyn McCormick – was your favorite?

Carolyn performing Katniss seems to overact the desperate and confused about her love life, for such an otherwise strong girl. (admittedly this is realistic to many teens I know) She plays the other characters exceptionally, including the forever hung-over or drunk Haymitch. The eternally gentle and patient Cinna, and even captures the latent aggression in Gale.

Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?

YES

As a health care provider and horse lover, I couldn't wait to listen to this one. Although a wee bit slow at times, the information was great. Both seeing a different type of autism than I have had experience with, and how the health care profession treats autistics and their families. I was not surprised by the importance of the horse(s) and how they helped. Moreover the imformation presented made me wonder if Dynamic Body balancing, and some other "softer" chiropractic and alternative therapies might help in conjunction. I also never really gave Shamanism much thought until this book, Now I'm curious what that might help.

Although he goes over some of the same stuff that seems to be in every develop your psychic powers book/cd - there is plenty of new info there too. So far this is my 2nd favorite book/cd on this topic. I might re-record the cd's so the meditations are all on 1 cd, and all the info is on the others.
