Historia
Defy the inevitable. Such is the stance of Confederation captain Eric Weston and the crew of the starship Odysseus, patrolling the outer limits of Priminae space, anticipating the Empire's next attacks. Connected with the Terran FTL tech—the transition drive—humanity might stand a chance against the overwhelming forces. Until the entire planetary system goes dark. Outnumbered and outgunned, the Odysseus arrives to find the Empire securing critical intelligence from Priminae ships.

The whole book should have been two chapters.
Revisado: 04-24-23
The only thing accomplished in this book was one battle over some intelligence gathering from a broken down war ship . The broken down war ship gets jumped by a large fighter group of imperial ships Then the earth ships come in to try and help and stop the empire from getting the intelligence on earth. They fail to do so. That is the whole book other than the ship the hook is named for proving to be haunted by one of the entities. That it in less than two paragraphs. This was such a disappointment.

Wish they would go back to the original canon.
Revisado: 05-26-22
This is very over dramatic at times and has to work to hard to connect dots that should never need to be connected. This is not the star wars universe I fell in love with 40 years ago and it reads like it has no true direction to go . It has none of the deep characters that made the stories great. Maybe it would be a better story if it wasn't trying to be apart of the star wars canon. Disney needs to stop and rethink the whole thing and bring star wars legends back as canon and hope we the fans can forget the last 5 movies and how disappointing they are . I know they can do it because the TV shows like (The book of Bobo Fett ) are very good but all the new stories can't hold a candle to books like the Darth Bane trilogy are the first one I read( The Romance of Princess Leia. PlEASE GET YOUR ACT TOGETHER DISNEY.

The problem with lying about having a super weapon is that the bad guys might believe they have nothing to lose by doing something stupid that both sides will regret. Or, they might just call your bluff. Either way, the Merry Band of Pirates need a plan to deal with the Fallout.

Had promise but didnt deliver.
Revisado: 11-11-21
The story was good enough to keep my attention but the constant use of GD made it hard to finish. The author uses GD and gods be damn (which is really no better ) like it's a exclamation point. Lots of us old fashioned people really do not like hearing the lord's name be blasphemed. Besides that he made the supposed intelligent hero of the book seem like an idiot when confronted by problems. He acted like he couldn't think his way out of a cardboard box at times. The over all story and characters were good and the author has potential . That said with all the blasphemy I dont think I will ever listen to the book again. I'm willing to try another title by the author but if the blasphemy continues in other books by him , I will not be reading or listening to anymore of his stuff.

The ending sucked ..... in no way did they need to leave it like that. If someone has come this for in the story they don't need a cliff hanger to encourage them to keep going.

Historia
The planet is isolated from the rest of the universe, unable to seek help as it's targeted by hostile aliens. Bienvenido's ruling authorities have slowly responded to this gradual infiltration, but they have no idea that a highly organized invasion is now under way, designed to wipe out all human life on the planet. All factions must work together to survive. Unfortunately, due to prejudice against enhanced Eliter humans and crippling technophobia, the parochial government won't collaborate.

best I can say is it was alright
Revisado: 07-14-16
I don't like the narrator. His speech is to wet sounding and monotonous. That's the only way I can think to describe it. The story is pretty good but a little to over the top at times when describing the hero's of the story. Sometimes less truly is more. You don't have to tell me 20 times how great the hero is. This is one of the few books I've ever skipped chapters on just to get to the end of all the blah,blah,blah.....
