Liked the book. Loved the reader.
Revisado: 07-12-19
Some of the stories were very good. A couple left me cold...just not my cup of tea. It was however fun to start to feel like I was "getting" the concept of Avatars down.
I really enjoyed the reader, Terry Murtha. Great voice. He made even the weaker stories fun to hear. Over all I do recommend the book.

Great for me. Great for my kids. Outstanding!
Revisado: 03-04-17
If you could sum up The Fine Art of Small Talk in three words, what would they be?
I wanted something that I could listen to in the car... With my teens. My kids are more introverted than I am, and I just starting playing this recording w/o asking them in the car. What a success. If the recording was horrible, my plan never would have worked. But this is beyond great. Great information delivered very well.
By the way, though I bought this to play for my kids, I picked up tons of great advice and tips that more than pay for the investment in time and the cost of the recording. Such a no brainer; just buy it and listen to it. Awesome.
What did you learn from The Fine Art of Small Talk that you would use in your daily life?
Conversation skills for all of us. How to not be intimidated by a group of outgoing people.
Any additional comments?
Great listening. Listen with your partner and/or kids. Such great stuff. Besides...it gave us something to talk about ... Which is both ironic and helpful. Fun recording. Such a great buy.

Just couldn't finish it
Revisado: 01-29-16
Would you try another book from Dorothy Gilman and/or Barbara Rosenblat?
Started charming and fun. But in the end it felt dated and just didn't hold up. I gave up and didn't finish.
The actress was fantastic, but the book just isn't worth it.

The plot was not as fast paced as the first book.
Revisado: 06-18-15
Good book. Love the narrator. Loved the setting. Not as fast paced as the first book. Not sure I will sit through book number three. I was in love with the first book… The bloom is off the rose?
