Beautiful demonstration of a Teenage Autistic kid

The focus was not on the Autism but on the eb and flow of the relatable characters without the usual over the top prose. The writing style is easy and accessible to ordinary people not just book worms and scholars and critics. Read in a day, to be savored for a lifetime.

So many story lines over a lifespan well told

This book sparked many insightful and challenging Gender role and equality discussions. Always seems like Men are given an easier pass when abandoning their families for some Artistic pursuit of grandeur. Few challenge the stereotype like this novel and yet it is not central to the story. Larger issue around how our earliest sexual encounters can shape an entire life span.

Best peotic and honest Rock star Autobiography

Loved the beauty of the storytelling and the journey Bono takes us as he and U2 grow into one of the most memorable Rock bands that continues to inspire me to be a better version of myself. Thank Bono for the hope your songs gave a kid "coloured" kid in South Africa that is now heading towards his 50s still inspired by the music of U2 to Surrender to all life has for me.

Best Kingsolver book by far

I have read almost all Barbara Kingsolver books and everyone has their favourite. Mine use to be the Poisonwood Bible. But there is maturity and depth of quality in this prose and unique rural people and attachment to the land and culture that draws you in to the sad and equally hope story.

A more authentic way to develop positivity

So much Wisdom, that feel more real and practical and more human focused, than the tons of rinse and repeat shallow positivity literature online. I am challenge to be more at peace with uncertainty instead of cultivating the false sense of control and certainty.

Subject matter is painful, but told beautifully

Main Characters are well defined
The trauma is very slowly revealed and interwoven in the unfolding of their friendship and lives over many years, which is a dark shadow over the entire book, even in the lighter more hopeful moments.
Epic novel, written with Compassion and beauty

Maybe we do see the world through cynical lenses based on our Negative bias to acutely feel amd remember tge Bad or negative that happened to us amd the world around us. In balance though, our lived predominantly our filled with more love, joy and positivity from strangers, foes amd friends alike. Comes down tp what we focus on?
